I used to go and ride between classes, and I always had a great time. There is a good amount of varied terrain for all skill levels, and the scenery is fantastic! Go spend an afternoon there

We get to visit this park about twice a year - once in the spring and once in the fall to enjoy the colors. We love the fitness trail and biking some of the easier trails. Good for hiking as well.

It is a very fun park. In winter we go sking all around the trails. We go in the creek and splash around. We mountain bike around the side trails. My all time favorite trail is tunnels. I love Lowes Creek County Park.

This is a really fine county park. It's well maintained, and has all that you need: bike and hiking trails off winter, and groomed ski trails in the winter. Varied terrain, water / the creek and even an exercise course. There is a picnic area at the main parking area.We love to come here in the early morning for a walk in nature; you will, too!

Great trails built by local Mountain Bike club that you can also hike and snowshoe on. Kind of a hidden secret even the locals don't know about them.

Lowes Creek is a wonderful island of forest and fields on the edge of Eau Claire. The mountain bike trails are first-class, and are used by bikers and trail runners. There are also some wider trails that are used in the winter for cross-country skiing. Access is easiest from Lowes Creek Road - vehicle passes are required if you bring a car into the park.

My daughter and I just started mtn biking with my husband...and this place is awesome. Great trails through the pines and woods for the newbies and a challenge or two for the hubbie.

Has trails for running, workout track, mountain biking, xc skiing.Holds a Mountain bike race yearly, worth checking out.Make sure you pay the county park fee. The pass is good at other local parks such as big falls which is another great attraction.

Costs $3. No trail maps and portapotties were overflowing. Beautiful area.

Great diversity of choices from rolling and safe to gonzo. Great workout for an hour or two. Watch out for other riders and the occasional hiker though...

Lowes Creek Park is situated just minutes south of Eau Claire with entrances off Lowes Creek Road on the West and Lorch Avenue on the East. The parking fee is $3 per day or $25 for the year. For the most part, the park is fairly flat, but Lowes Creek runs through the center, providing wonderful views of the valley and some challenging terrain. The walking trails double as ski trails in the winter with a deck wide enough for both skating and classic. The Chippewa Off Road Bike Club is charged with developing and maintaining the single track mountain biking trails that are used for snowshoeing in the winter. In the summer, Lowes Creek Park hosts the Firecracker Mountain Bike Race and Trail Run, one of the biggest off road events in the Midwest and the Powder Keg Snow Shoe and Bike Race in the winter. Both are fund-raisers for the park. The park is home to a surprising variety of wildlife. Besides the expected squirrels, rabbits and song birds, deer, turkeys, grouse, owls, hawks, foxes and the occasional coyote all share the park with the hikers, skiers and bikers. Bring a camera to capture these wild encounters. While most of the park is wooded, with a variety of hard woods, birch and pine, the east field provides a prairie and wetland. For those looking to enjoy their favorite outdoor activity in a natural setting, there is no better place than Lowes Creek Park. The trail systems are ranked by difficulty, so the level of challenge is easy to guage. For the most part hikers and runners will need light boots or sturdy trail shoes. The single track is fast and flowing with a limited amount of vertical, so pretty much any mountain or cyclocross bike will do. CORBA meets every Monday at 6pm all year for biking, hiking and snowshoeing. See http://www.chippewaoffroad.org for details.
