We were traveling through Madison at lunchtime and just happened to find Ricky D's. The food was faster than fast food and very good. Everything was immaculately clean, service friendly and good. The proprietor gave us a quick tour of the movie theater and the lounge area. We plan to come black again for a movie.

If you are going to visit small towns and travel the scenic route be sure to take a ride through Madison, GA. Stop and visit Ricky D's! This is a retro cinema with food and a very cool wine bar. Check out the artifacts from old movies and Elvis. Take the time and see a movie. The retro cinema brings back memories of the way movies were intended to be seen. This place is as interesting as it is cool and definitely worth a visit. Check it out! http://rickyds.com

This is such a unique place and fits in so nicely in our downtown! A retro soda fountain, a cozy movie theater, and wine bar...all rolled into one! We love it!

My son and I recently happened upon Madison, GA, during a road trip from NJ. We heard about Ricky D's in advance and stopped in soon after we entered town. The Ricky D's staff was gracious and inviting. We got a tour of all three sections, including the SpeakEasy. My son was very intrigued with the idea of seeing an indie film at the Retro Theatre in the evening. We made a plan to stay in Madison ALL DAY LONG, just so we could do that. We had a blast in the town and toured many of the historic homes as well as passed some leisure time at the Town Park. The movie we saw (Bound By Flesh) was interesting and educational. And, we were personally welcomed by one of the owners. Wesley and I can't wait to return!

I was truly stunned when I recently visited Madison, GA about an hour east of Atlanta. This historic building was renovated into a beautiful wine bar/speakeasy and cinema! Its in downtown Madison across from the courthouse and is the MUST-SEE place to visit. The interior of the wine bar is warm, relaxing and entertaining complete a stunning re-crafted brick wall from an old building, intricate detailed ceiling tiles and old chandelier lights. The old wine bar itself is authentic and the displays of wine available are a treat. If you love those moments with memorable great wines and hospitable friends then I really want you to visit this place. Then there is the theater where every seat is great and close to the screen. It seats about 50 and I thoroughly enjoyed watching the movie! I love watching movies and I felt comfortable and greatly entertained. The quality of the movies is unmatched - you can watch movies from the great independent movie festivals like Tribeca, Sundance and Toronto. These are first run type movies with great actors and the atmosphere of the cinema really promotes a wonderful experience. I am really impressed with the movie posters -they are all authentic and some date back to the 60's! It's a historical place to visit and you will always remember it. Madison really has a great thing going on at this place. Wish I lived closer to visit it and the owners more often - they are the creators of something special. Like Wine and movies? Visit this place. They even have a neat eatery in the front with great tasting hotdogs, and custard in a cool atmosphere! I didn't know I loved custard till I visited. I live in Florida and I wish we had something like this! I can't wait till I visit again - I already changed my vacation plans this year so I could go back.

I travel frequently and I was stunned when I walked into this business in this quaint little city in Georgia. When you walk in you think you are walking into a place from the 60's! I thought it was just a restaurant at first but as you walk through you realize that it is like a Hollywood museum. Movie posters and memorabilia in every room! As you walk through you enter into a cozy theatre that seats about 50. Apparently they show independent films, but I didn't have the time to watch one. Then you walk into the the next room. AMAZING WINE BAR!!! It is elegant and very hard to describe. It reminds me of a Speakeasy with its separate door in the back. I enjoyed a glass of wine from Australia -- their wine list is unbelievable! You have to see this place for yourself, it is truly different from anything I have ever seen in my travels. I hope to go back to this charming city which has beautiful historic antebellum homes everywhere! Very charming!

If you are traveling near Madison Georgia and love Hollywood history or current film festival winners be sure to stop and tour RICKY D'S. My husband and I had read about this new business and decided to check it out last month. Wow- we were shocked by how much "atmosphere" this business communicates to it's visitors. The building is separated into 3 distinct areas- Sandwiches & Frozen Custard, Cinema, and Wine Bar. For us the best part was the impressive displays of Holllywood memorabilia the owners displayed throughout the three sections of the business. The collection spans Hollywood's "Golden" period of the 1950's to the most recent- including life size helmet and uniform of Iron Man to the prop gun used by "James Bond" in Skyfall. Special tribute to Madison's own Hollywood star: Oliver Hardy from Laurel and Hardy. Dizzying displays of movie posters and photos of the biggest of the stars of Hollywood are found throughout. Actual studio light, Drive-In theatre speakers etc...all very cool. We were glad we came at lunch time- the food was fresh, fast and served by friendly staff. The cleanliness of Ricky D's also impressed us. Be sure to ask for a tour of the "Backstage"- their wine bar area. Very cozy and clubish. Beer and wine are served throughout the day- just ask. We will return to watch a movie in their theatre- it looked fun and equipped with current Dolby and digital systems. We never expected to find such a fascinating museum/business in Madison, but we're glad we did!
