This park, which has a looong set of stairs, has a very nice little waterfall and wading area. It is not heavily used.

Veterans park is a small location in Marinette county. The area of the falls is down a collection of stairs so be prepared for a short vertical decent and accent. There is a viewing platform and you are free to climb, swim, fish or hike the entire area. When the temp reaches 90 degrees you will find the locals dropping their core temps in the chilly mountain river. A small gem just far enough off the beaten path to be secluded and private. M-F you may be one if a handful that visit. Restroom and water pump, grills and camping sites. The Thunder River is teaming with trout of the brook and rainbow variety. Enjoy the rocks and the waters...woof woof ....no dogs in the picnic area but they are welcome at the river and swim area!If it is 90 or better you will find me posted up under the big pine tree with my chair in the river.

This is a nice spot for a picnic, but it's not the biggest or most interesting falls in the county. Marinette County has lots of neat waterfalls near the Amberg/ Pembine area. I think Veteran's falls are the southernmost falls in the county. Marinette County has something like 10-20 falls. A good map and some information from the internet would be enough for a nice day of waterfalling in Marinette County. No, I don't work for the tourist office in Marinette County.

Veteran's Falls, one of Marinette County's southernmost waterfalls, has some rather intense hiking but is also very beautiful and enjoyable. It is contained within Veteran's Memorial Park in Crivitz, WI, and once in the park, simply follow the signs to get to the falls. A walking stick is highly recommended. There are several paths that go in different directions to provide a variety of perspectives on the falls as well as a playground and picnic area. Like all Marinette County parks, there is a $3.00 park fee that is good for all parks all day.
