We made a quick stop in here. It is right next to the zoo and is free. It is pretty small. Our favorite thing was the giant hairball located where you purchase gift shop items. ;)

Such a well kept place and so many really neat exhibits. Kids of all ages will enjoy spending time here. Donations keep it running and they deserve to get those donations. Garden City is doing a fantastic job of offering special things to its residents. Touche!

This is a nice little interpretive museum that tells the story of Finney County and Garden City. Displays include natural history, the native people's past, the lives of settlers and the reason we stopped in the first place - the world's largest hairball. When traveling with teenage boys, it's important to keep them entertained. They thought the hairball was sufficiently gross to do just that. However, I was impressed with the exhibits and learned a lot about the local area. After talking with the staff, I found out that the museum was curated by volunteers from the historical society. This makes the museum even more impressive as I assumed, by the quality of the displays, it was professionally managed. If you are going to the zoo next door, drop in for a cool local museum.
