Great day trip or nice stop while traveling on the Interstate. St. Meinrad is peaceful and serene. Don't forget to make a trip just up the road to Monte Cassino Shrine.

A beautiful and serene setting made a great day trip. A walk on the grounds and a visit to mid-day prayers in the archabbey lead us to end our visit at the gift shop. The shop offers a wide variety of products from the arachabbey and missions around the world and other products selected for the setting - decorated and arranged to please the eye. The cafe added to the ambience and the bakery goods were wonderful to enjoy at home. A delightful day trip that we still talk about and plan to do again.

This was a great find and a business worth supporting! We stopped here while seeing the Abbey. They have so much to see, really a lot of variety. A lot of unique items, one of a kind and handmade art. There is also a small cafe for sandwiches and they have a beautiful store display of the handmade wooden caskets in a side area of this store. We spent a lot of time browsing all the different things and they also have some history of the Abbey there. Abbey Press items, books, music and other religious pieces. Christmas items, gifts, cards, fresh bakery items art and many more items. Very friendly ladies working there.

I have been to the shop before but this last visit to the abbey I shopped in the store and was surprised that they have extended their products. Not only do they have their typical Abbey Press goods they have all the Snail's Pace goods, Abbey Caskets room and gifts made by the monks at the abbey even fresh baked breads from the abbey ovens. They also started carrying goods from the Monastery Greeting catalogue like the Trappist jellies and preserves, creamed honey, soaps, etc. Wish it was closer to home! The biggest sale days are during the KY Derby weekend so if yo are in the Louisville area it would be worth taking one afternoon to shop.

It is a place worth seeing. They have a lot of things you wont find any place but there just driving there is .a great trip. I would go when they have there yard sale you can get some bargains. The things they have in the shop are expensive but you get what you pay for.Make sure you check out all the little sights around like MT. Casino chapel

We came to the monastery to visit because of its magnificent beauty and peaceful nature. We found the Abby gift store and spent more time and money than we ever planned to spend. It is a tremendous find. They have every item found in their catalogue on display and available. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There are products made by the local monks and other religious in the region. Each is unique and impressive. Heck, you can even pick out your casket in the Archabbey’s side shop. They too are all hand made by the monks of Saint Meinrad.
