bar louie merrillville

We were in Merrillville for the DWTS Tour and stopped her for dinner before the show. Great happy hour food and wonderful variety - the Martinis were excellent and service was great. Would highly recommend this as a stop for great food and drinks.

I always love coming here because of the ambience & surprisingly good selection of food for a bar. The kitchen closes late so it's a plus. Not your crazy, crowded, overwhelmingly loud bar where you're surrounded with obnoxious college kids or drunk party animals. It's a nice,decent place where you can sit down & actually enjoy conversation without having to yell at each other because the music is just loud enough for everyone to enjoy.

We chose Bar Louie after trying to get in to an always overcrowded and overhyped Olive Garden by the Mall. Wow, are we ever glad we decided to turn around and drive the extra 5 minutes! Walked right in with a party of 11 at 1pm. Very nice atmosphere, and attentive and friendly service. Tried the pretzel stick apps and they were very good with three different types of dips. Everyone loved their entrees! Yes, they were basically bar type food but excellent flavor and very, very generous portions. The chicken nachos are very good and can feed two for a meal. The veggie wrap was superb and very flavorful. Sliders, and club sandwiches were all highly complimented, too. The loaded tater tots are spicy but very good. Most of us left with take home containers for an extra meal! Prices therefore very reasonable for generous portions. Well worth the out of the way trip from the very busy mall.
