When I was there it was cold because of a little snow a few days before, but even with the chilly weather the seafood restaurant was packed with people, and there were vendors out there with a ton of fruit and vegetables to sell, even plants. I would imagine this farmer's market would be an awesome sight to see in the middle of summer, so many goods and products to buy.

Not too much happening since it is Winter but I love the variety. Love the fresh vegetables, even the fresh peanuts and natural honey. Will come back in the Spring!!

This is a great farmers market to visit. Lots of fresh local produce, plants, and goodies. I got collards, broccoli, and some herb plants. We love stopping by to see what they have at different times of the year. A wonderful place to visit anytime of the year.

I've moved away from Raleigh, but when I lived in town, I tried to come every weekend. Whenever I come back into town, I make sure to visit.Spring, Summer, and fall are the best times to visit with plenty to offer. Even though its cold in January and February, there are still many vendors out there. I have never had a wasted trip. Even if I don't purchase and fruits or veggies, there still homemade snacks, candies, and jellies as well as the 2 restaurants.

Hands down the best farmer's market I have ever visited. We never miss it when passing through Raleigh. There are year round booths & seasonal. Holiday time we go just to smell & see all the trees! Lot's of variety of items for sale, but all food or agricultural in nature, or at least 99.9% of it is. We love the spring too... lots of plants for sale. There are 2 restaurants.. they are ok. The seafood one is at best mediocre. The other pretty much a typical mom & pop. We don't go to eat.. we go to buy things to eat later! I have found many items there, rare types of this & that, over the years.Bathrooms clean enough & plentiful.Don't miss.. weekends in the year round building.. goat cheese from company that still names their goats! And on the east side of the year round building, the best chocolate pie by the piece. Parking can be interesting, but is possible. There is an ATM.. & you probably will over spend. There is just so much! Cash only on most of the booths.

We stopped by the Farmer's Market on our way to our motel near RDU to pass some time. Glad we did. A lot to see there, especially at the import shop. If you need anything unusual for outdoor decor, this is the place to shop.

If you're looking for something to do on a weekend day where you want to kill 1-2 hours, I'd highly recommend the State Farmer's Market. With many places to explore on the grounds, you'll find vendors that sell things from corn, sweet potatoes, and many other NC grown foods that are in season. The permanent stand building that houses the vendors who are there all year around are a fantastic place to go and get NC products from hot sauces to candy. It's a great place to go and explore around and see many different people and vendors. Highly recommend!

Friends who live nearby brought me here...what fun and a fantastic way to bring in fall! A huge collection of plants, food and it's here every day. Parking was plentiful, grounds were clean and everything was beautifully displayed. Produce, plants, pies, jellies, seafood, crafts--it's all here. Prices were reasonable and, despite it being Sunday morning, the crowds were pleasant and not overwhelming. If I lived here, I'd be here weekly!

Large selection of vendors and items to choose from. People were very friendly and helpful. Area was clean and items were easily accessible.

Wow @ the huge pumpkins this year. Let's see, what did I love? Well, from the wide array of harvest there was a bit of everything. First, you must try the fresh seafood restaurant on site! Really enjoyed those oysters and scallops. As for the market, I enjoyed the huge pumpkins, fresh herbs you can plant yourself-I purchased a few:oregeno, lemon thyme and rosemary. They have most any fruit and vegetable in season you can imagine. There is also a spectacular booth selling fruit and nut trees.. even lemon trees. Go inside the indoor market, just behind the produce and you'll find wine locally made, old fashioned candies, meats and candles just to name a few.

As a total plant nerd, this place is my go-to for Saturdays in the summer. Thankfully, they are mostly open in the winter, too. That said, the place is absolutely teeming during growing season. If you like to people watch, go on a Saturday at 10 or 11. If you are all business, go during the week in the morning. Everyone that works there is very friendly and willing to give you a sample of peaches or answer a question about basil. I love this place!

I love the big country breakfasts with all of the farm-fresh meats. The sausage is very good and the portions are large. The fresh vegetables are a real plus.

The farmers market offers fruit, vegetables, shrubs, plants, trees and much more. It is a centralized place to find many things. There are some bargains so bring you haggling tools.
