I have always enjoyed live theater. Thalian is just the right size. All the seats are great for a reasonable price. $30. The cast was exceptional.

Find an event that appeals to you and bask in the intimacy and tradition of this 200 year old theater. This venue made me wish I lived in Wilmington. Helpful (mostly volunteer) staff, reasonable pricing, and a quality production ("Hair, the musical") made this a fine evening.

you can spend $100 or more per person in Raleigh or Durham........or you can spend $30 a person and go see a great show at an awesome venue. Perfect date nite. not a bad seat in the house.

This was our first time seeing a show here and can not wait to come back for another. We came to see Hair on a Thursday night and the show was just fabulous. Well worth the money and we had great seats, I do not think that there could be any bad seats here. This performance was just like seeing it on Broadway in New York City. I would highly recommend coming here to see a show to everyone. We were here in January and there is construction going on and we parked out in the street, finding a spot around 6:45 pm. Spend the money and come see a show because you will not be disappointed.

I really like the location of the theatre. It's within walking distance to the parking garage, free street parking, restaurants and bars. Most recently my husband and I went to see The Nutcracker (for little people) but we've enjoyed several movies, including 2001: A Space Odyssey. The theatre has great acoustics and comfortable-ish seating. We've sat in nearly every section of the theatre. The pink dots on the seating chart show obstructed view. I've sat in a pink dot seat only because I really wanted to see the show on that specific night. It does alter the experience slightly. Another plus is that there is a small bar at the front entrance. Good beer. Before the show grab an appetizer or two and a glass of wine at Circa or Caprice or a slice of pizza at I love NY pizza and you've got a great night out.

Family and I visited Thalian Hall and watched A Christmas Carol. The performance was great! Case and crew did a great job. The service was good upon arrival at the center. Employees were nice and friendly. Snack and drinks were available.

My mother arranged for tickets to a movie at Thalian Hall. They have quite a schedule of events, but it looks like it is open on Monday through Wednesday evenings. It is a beautifully restored facility.

We have never been to a live performance, but we love going to the Monday-Wednesday films here. It reminds us of going to big city movie theaters back in the day. The renovations are stunning and the volunteers have become like family. We love the film selections, mostly independent films that have little or no runs in mainstream theaters. Definitely worth the $7 admission.

This theater doesn't look they same from the outside as it does inside. It's a beautiful, ornate historic theater. I saw "On the Town" here (my first show so far) and it was as good as anything I've seen on Broadway and I lived in NYC for 30 years before moving to Wilmington recently and saw plenty of Broadway and Off Broadway shows.

We frequently go to the M-W movies -- indie films you don't find at the multi-plex. Obviously, they vary in quality, but are almost always interesting. Some live theatre and travelling shows. The venue is great -- an old restored theatre. Good concession stand -- wine, soft drinks, adult stuff. Polite and friendly staff. Whether you live in New Hanover County or are just visiting, you should seek out what is going on at Thalian Hall, and consider going. (Even if the show does not make your standards, the structure will.)

We have been to Thalian Hall several times to see some type of show and have always enjoyed it. It is a very nice historical venue with comfortable seating and good acoustics. Our latest show was to see the Capitol Steps, a political satire comedy group. I was able to buy seats in the second row center the day they went on sale to the general public at a very reasonable cost. The performance was terrific, we haven't laughed that hard or that much in a long time.We saw Spamalot here about a year ago and thought it was fabulous, even thought the actors are all local folks, again at a fraction of what you would pay on Broadway. We always keep an eye out for what is appearing at Thalian Hall and make it a point to go when something interests us. We have never been disappointed, and if by some chance we would be in the future, it's not as though we paid $100+ for a ticket.

Thalian Hall is located at City Hall in downtown Wilmington, There is plenty of close parking available. The Theatre is smaller but has a cozy feel to it. It is in great condition for its age as well. The only downside is there are some obstructed view seats so do your research so that you do not get one of those.

Just saw Peter Pan. It was excellent. Actors were most professional. Saw Wizard of Oz last spring, fantastic as well. I will go to Thalian whenever possible.

The old building is just beautiful and full of interesting history! The theater was comfortable and yet still has the charm of the past. I saw the performance of "Into the Woods" and it was a most enjoyable show! There is so much talent in this group! The people who work the ticket booth, refreshments and take tickets were so nice and very welcoming and helpful! Don't miss seeing a show here!

Went for a Sunday matinee of Into the Woods (performance was excellent); the historic building is beautiful and well designed for shows. Seats are comfortable, aisles are easy to access. I do suggest choosing your own seats as the online tool that selects "best available" may not give you what you want (it put us in the very front row which had us having to look up slightly and right above the orchestra pit); there truly isn't a bad seat in the building although there do exist columns that might block one's view partially.
