This was such a nice surprise! The owner was super helpful to the "moms" with no experience. We took our boys (12-15) and they LOVED IT!!! The hour passed by so quickly... and the owner didn't let us leave until all the boys had experienced as many options as they could, including dropping bombs and landing! This is a great family time as well as just to take a bunch of kids - instead of playing a video game at home! We will be back!!!! No one offers this around here, and the owner Mr. Matthews says that not many people know that he's here, so we have to spread this info to others!!!! It was so much fun. One mom was petrified of taking the controls, and kept saying, "no, I don't know how to do any of this!" and Mr. Matthews spent time explaining everything to her.... We had to finally pull her off when it was time to go! FUN, FUN FUN!!!

Went with four boys (11-12) on a Sat afternoon. Here they have a wide varierty of video games that the kids, young or old, can play cooperatively or competively. Each person has their own computer and monitor. The kids loved getting to play against each other on various games. The price was great. They even have birthday party packages that are a great deal. Great inexpensive way to spend some time.

I took four boys (12-13) and a husband. They had a great time! It was a unique place and clearly a labor of love. The owner was kind and helpful and really added to the overall experience. My husband was happy when the boys took a break and he got to have a turn at the controls. We did only the WWII flight simulations for fun (including crash landings, explosions, and sabotage), but I could see how there would be a great opportunity for history enthusiasts to have some valuable experiences too.

The Wright Stuff is a unique place where you can take the controls of an F-16, a WWII bomber or a Cessna. You can dogfight with your friends or take off from PTI or Smith Reynolds airport for a leisurely flight. You can even play Call of Duty! The concept is unique in this area. There are four screens complete with flight chairs and controls. You are in command of the aircraft. After only a few minutes of instruction you are flying the aircraft of your choice. Tired of flying a particular craft? No problem. You can change with only a few clicks. I took four boys ages 12-16. They all loved it even though it was a much bigger challenge that the Xbox & PlayStation games they were used to. The allotted hour went by quickly - even for me as an observer. The owner is a former aircraft mechanic and pilot. He is very knowledgeable and was very patient with the boys as they learned the controls. The price was incredibly reasonable and I am sure that we will go back several times this summer. You do need to call ahead for a reservation as there are only four flight chairs but parties for up to eight are available. This would be an appropriate activity for ages 10-110. It is an incredible "hidden gem" in the Triad and I am thrilled to have found it!
