lineberger park

This is a great city park particularly for ages 2-12. They have a cute train, nice swimming and great shelters for a picnic. It is off of Garrison Blvd. so easy to get too.

This park was THE gathering spot for families when I was a child. Like many public places, it slipped into something different based on the people who were hanging out there. The city has retaken the park, and installed a train for the kids, and landscaping as well as having refurbished the pool. Much better now.

I wanted to give this park a higher rating because of all the recent improvements they have done. The swimming pool has been completely renovated and they recently restored the mini train for the kids to ride, there is a free splash pad and a fenced in area for pre-schoolers. It is a very nice park, if you go at the right times. This is a park that I would never feel comfortable visiting alone, or after dark. It is close to a very bad part of town, and more than once I have seen unsavory looking characters in the vicinity of the play areas. We still visit, as long we have a buddy!

This park is so beautiful. In the summer you can go into the pool and it is so relaxing. They have a slide and a lazy river. I never heard of any drug deals like the first comment says. They have a playground and a snack bar next to the pool. It is all free and the playground is available in the winter also in the summer.

Forty years ago, this was a nice park, but now you would take your life in your hands to go there - even in daylight.
