We've been attending the Southeast Old Thresher's Reunion for over 25 years. Camping is available (water & electric), but make your reservations about a year in advance. They have everything you could imagine related to farming: antique tractors, steam engines, a steam shovel, a steam crane, a sawmill, Border Collie demonstrations, threshing with gas engines, threshing & baling with horses, hit & miss engines, petting zoo etc. You have to pay extra to ride the steam train but it's a good way to see the area. There are also tram rides-you can ride as long as you want. Every evening there is a pull: lawnmower, tractor, or horse pull. There is a Parade of Power featuring steam engines and tractors every night. There are 2 music concerts each day. There is a pedal pull for the kids and adults. The last night of the show there is a fantastic fireworks display. There is so much to see, plan on staying for several days.

I go to Denton Farm Park every year for the His Laboring Few campout. This place has plenty of camping spots with electric hookups and water. They have several shower houses/bathrooms spread throughout the park and a nice amphitheater.

Lot's of old equipment/many food vendors ,ticket includes 2 free music show daily. Usually very warm part of the year..Unhappy they had fireworks on July 5 instead of July 4th.

EXCELLENT family adventure for the holidays. You get to ride the Handy Dandy Train (which is beautiful!) through a live nativity in the fields. I could not believe how authentic the actors were. The train stops at a point so that you can watch the story of baby Jesus on a huge screen in the middle of the field. Then the train progresses through lighted displays. I will not give away all of the beautiful scenes, but you will be impressed. After the train ride you can stand in line to see Santa and Mrs. Clause and for $5 get two pictures emailed to you... you cannot beat that! Then, they have a town that you can walk through with a church, shops, a vendor center, and a gingerbread house where you can get old timey candy, fresh gingerbread cookies, and drinks. They had a ponyride and a carriage ride to a plantation home. We didn't have time for the carriage ride to the plantation, but it sounds nice. And, they have events throughout the year that we plan to attend. It is a long ride to the middle of nothing, but it is well worth the ride. The admission prices are unbelievably low and the theme was all about celebrating the true meaning of Christmas: Jesus' birthday. Highly recommended!!!! TIP: Get there about an hour before the gate opens for the Christmas event because the line backs way up. The train leaves every 30 minutes so it gets people through the ride pretty quickly.

For a $14 admission you get to see new tractors, old tractors, both restored and rusty, steam engines, coal burning steam train and excavators. There are also border collies herding, music, clogging to watch. There are flea market vendors selling junk and antiques alike.

I haven't been in about 25 yrs. Couldn't believe how much is has grown. Had a great time. Didn't want to go in the past because of the heat. This year they had more mud than heat, but give me the mud anyday. There is only one thing I would like to see changed - have it in a cooler part of the year. Or at least have misting tents. they might have had them somewhere, like I said, there is no way to see it all in one day. Lots of people there, but since it is spread out over 200 acres it didn't seem that crowded. Will go again.

We had a fantastic time at the Doyle Lawson Bluegrass Festival on 9th,10th & 11th May '13The music was great and everyone was so friendly and polite.It was the trip of a lifetime.Thanks to Karen Miller for all her help in planning our trip.Thanks to Doyle Lawson & his band ,the Isaacs & the Bankesters for singing Happy Birthday for Donald!We will have such happy memories.

The train ride was setup nicely for the kids. We liked the fact that it was a Christian atmosphere. Would not receommend the food that was being sold by the local church. It was pricey and it was not good. Would take the kids again but not buy the food.

We enjoyed a great family experience at this Christmas event. The park is decorated very well and the train ride was enjoyable. Our 6 grandchildren (ages 4 to 13) not only enjoyed the train but also all the lights, decorations, and the village that had old stores and antiques. The music in the old church was special and we appreciated the "Reason for the Season" theme throughout the park. Check out their website for information on dates and times.

Our family attended Denton Farm Park last Sunday for the Country Christmas Train. We were very excited to take our kiddos (ages 1, 4 & 6) to experience a little bit of "country Christmas" and, at first, were not dissapointed. The farm equipment and train were amazing! Couldn't believe that they had a real steam shovel (my husband's a boiler engineer plus we've been reading "Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel" to the kids)! The lights were terrific and plentiful and we enjoyed hearing the Christmas story while on the train. After that, however, we were in for a let down. Turns out there's a charge for everything as you wander around the "village." That includes taking pictures of your own kids with your own camera at the petting zoo ($5 "donation"). Seriously. The folks running the different stations were friendly enough, but looked liked they'd rather be somewhere else. The grist mill was dark and shuttered and we weren't about to fork over another $15 to go see the "plantation" after paying $25 for a train ride and not much else. Overall the effort was decidedly half-hearted and overpriced which is a shame since it looks like they went to a lot of trouble and expense to build the place.

Each year we go to the tractor event. Great selection of old tractors. Plenty of food varieties. A great place to mingle and rub elbows with the common man and do your annual thing, Down On The Farm. I think it's in August. If not, it's gotta be on either side of August.

The Christmas decorations was fantastic. A genuine, old fashioned Christmas with a train ride, now you can't beat that.

We took our grandson to the Christmas village. It was great, Santa, train ride, lights, food and more. Don't go if you are in a hurry.

My husbands company has there family day here. The train is very exciting for my kids.

This park, located on Rt 49, is a great destination for a family outing or for one of the many events scheduled through out the year. This weekend the Antique Motorcycle Club of America (AMCA) held it's 3rd annual Southern meet here. The farm offers many displays of farm machinery and implements in addition to an ever growing village of vintage buildings... visit an actual general store where you can not only see goods from long ago displayed - you may actually purchase gifts for the family back home. There are benches in the shade to stop and rest and plenty of grassy areas for the kids to work off excess energy. Pets are welcomed.
