This is a great way to experience mother nature in Chimney Rock. We had lunch, window shopped, and then walked down to the river bend. THere are easy excess walkways to the lower areas. One can pick up colorful pebbles, go up and visit a gem mine, walk over the bridges, hop over the boulders and rocks, take the trail and keep walking. In December, the water level was low, so it was easy to walk and take beautiful pictures.

The Rocky Broad Riverwalk is only 1/8 of a mile long and the main walk is wide and flat so even if you have trouble walking you should be able to make the walk. However, there are a lot of stairs to get down to the riverwalk but I also saw paved areas between buildings you could take but they were a little steep. There are short narrower paths from the main riverwalk that will take you right down to the river and some of these are rocky. We watched kids having a blast climbing on the large bolders.
