We have visited their tasting room in Deadwood many times, and have enjoyed friendly service, unique gifts and delicious wine!

My husband and I enjoyed this cute tasting room and the staff was fun and knowledgeable. The Marquette wine was my favorite and we ended up buying some and enjoying in our hotel room.

I do not consider myself a wine expert. But I do like trying local wines and beers when I travel. I drink enough wine that I feel I can tell a quality wine. Let me just say... this was not quality wine. It was awful. My wife and I went to a casino nearby to get Bud Light to improve the taste in our mouths. Do not go.

AC wasn't working in mid July. Wine was, well, cheap wine. Better things to do in Deadwood. Not our " cup of wine".

My wife and I enjoy sampling local wines and beers, so we stopped in last week when in Deadwood. Belle Joli' is a nice change from the recreated saloons that line Main Street, but could be so much more.Their location is fabulous; the slight bend in the road gives customers on the patio a great view of Main Street. However, when we were there it was so hot - even at noon - that we couldn't avail ourselves of that. There was no shade - no trellises, no umbrellas, nothing. This seems as if it would be an easy fix.We found the wine to be very average. I prefer reds, and I didn't find one to my liking (your mileage, of course, may vary). My wife liked the driest white enough to purchase a couple bottles. We might have even braved the noon sun to enjoy a cool glass or two had we been able to purchase crackers and a little cheese to accompany the wine - but this, too, wasn't an option. Our hostess, Kaitlin, was very personable and knowledgeable about the area in general; she gave us some great tips on places to visit. She seemed as if she'd have done a fine job with a room full of patrons.Belle Joli' has a real opportunity to be something special in an area that features a lot of sameness, but they're not quite there yet.

Let me start this by saying....i am not a wine snob and love a variety of wine. I tried almost all the wine they offer and did not care for anything except one fruit wine (which will be an excellent addition to my next sangria). The shop is charming as are the people who work there. If you love wine lower your expectations and just enjoy the scenery from the patio.

A perfect little escape from the hustle of downtown Deadwood. No gaming, no bustle of tourists, just a quiet patio with a beautiful view of the hills. Perfect place to contemplate nature or people watch. The wine is unique & the staff friendly.

This is a tiny wine-tasting room but they have some unique wines. We enjoyed being able to just walk over to this after going in and out of shops.

My husband and I had been walking around Deadwood for most of the day and I wanted to sit and have a glass of wine. I was looking for wine made from regional ingredients, but those weren't available by the glass, which was a bit disappointing. It's not high-end, but if you want a decent glass of wine on a patio, this fits the bill well.

Deadwood has a host of "wild west tourist trap" things to do. A visit to this winery's tasting room is a refreshing departure from that norm. Very friendly staff behind the tasting bar, a nice woman who was knowledgable about wine making in general and passionate about Belle Joli wines in particular. Tasting, offered from a full menu of Belle Joli wines, was either free or such a nominal fee that I can't remember it a month after our visit. My husband and I are relatively serious wine drinkers and while we didn't find any of these wines to be the best we've had, we found most of them to be darned drinkable in the context of South Dakota. The winery making these is in nearby Belle Fourche and some of the grapes, like Edelweiss and St. Croix, are South Dakota grown. We thought the best of the wines were the dessert wines in particular the peach and also the cherry (which is one of the few wines with all South Dakota fruit). Tasting room is small and since it has a step up, it is also not wheelchair accessible. The patio is charming and offers a nice respite stop in Deadwood to enjoy a glass of wine when weather permits outdoor seating. Love the "Frank Sinatra and Friends" style music on the sound system. This is not a destination wine tasting room stop but if you're in Deadwood anyway, it is a definitely worth a pop in.
