This place has a fee for everything but it's also very fun. There's a cave (of course) to tour and explore. There's a zipline ($9 each) which is fun, my son and I did that twice. There's snacks to buy, a store with great stuff (rocks, gifts, t-shirts), gem panning. Very easy to spend half the day here.

We didn't do the cave tour, since we have toured caves previously. We initially just wanted to try the Gunslinger 7-D Interactive Ride, but ended trying the Souring Eagle Zipline Ride also. The Zipline is a little bit like an amusement park ride because you are strapped into a two-person seat. When you are ready you are sent down the hill on a cable system, completely stopped at the bottom, and then brought back up to the top. It was good for a first-time ziplining experience since you are seated instead of in a harness. The Gunslinger 7-D Interactive Ride had three different "scenes" to choose from. We liked the first one so much that we bought more tickets and did the other two. The Ride consists of wearing 3-D glasses, strapping into a seat that moves, using a "laser" gun to shoot the "bad" guys on the screen, and feeling the gusts of wind blow on you. I'm not a big fan of video games, but this was a lot of fun! Helpful tip: Save money by buying the deal for the group of ride tickets.

We all really ended up enjoying Rushmore Cave. We have been to Rushmore Cave before but not since they added the new attractions. We were at 1st skeptical and thinking they were a bit touristy...but both kids really liked the Zipline ride. We also went on the Gunslinger interactive ride - yes it's only 6 minutes long but it was so fun! Both kids enjoyed this (and me too!) so we went back again for a different show. You can pick from 3 different movies to try. If you are out there anyway just do a bundle- cave tour + zipline + gunslinger theatre. Your kids will enjoy it and it is really fun! Great way to spend 1-2 hours. My youngest and I did not do the cave this time, but oldest & hubby did and liked it. It is one of the more scenic caves in the Hills. Recommend.

Everyone loved the cave. Everyone loved the zip line. Everyone loved the 7D experience.Three attractions at one location. It is about a 1/2 mile walk through the cave with low ceilings and a number or stairs. Also, you have a ladder to climb.Be careful if you are tall. At 6' 4" it may be the last cave I ever want to tour, but this will be one I'll remember as a very positive experience.Block out a few hours for this attraction. It is not as far from Mount Rushmore as some other caves, and has a great appeal to all ages.

We had a great experience there. When we first got there, electricity was out but was back on about 10 minutes after we got there. Besides going in the cave, my granddaughter and I rode the Zipline and did the 7D gunslinger theatre. Prior to going to Rushmore cave, I searched Trip Advisor and found Rushmore Cave had more excellent reviews. The cave was a great tour. One thing that we did experience is that when we did the Zipline ride, our picture didn't take the first time. So the employees at Rushmore cave had us go on again with no extra charge. The 7D ride was an experience. This is why we chose to go to Rushmore Cave becuz of the Zipline and 7D being there.

Family fun time. Seven family members including 12 and 14 year old enjoyed the cave, shooting tour and quick but powerful zip line. We all participated and made some neat memories of a delightful vacation.

Nice cave tour given by Crystal. There was plenty of time for photos and the stairs are not to strenuous. We have been to lots of caves all over the USA. This one has many different types of formations. The rare helictites can be seen here.

We did the cave tour + the 7D "ride". I would recommend folks stick to the base cave ticket, the other attractions seem to be a way to get more of your money (though my kids really did enjoy the 7d ride). The cave is cool. Nice cave formations. Tour is a little over an hour. They have some adventure tours if you are interested in trying to crawl through some very small holes. Wish we could have done one of those, but they stop offering those tours after the college kids go back to school...so no luck labor day weekend for us. Jewel Cave National Monument was another well recommended cave. They offer a longer "lamp" tour that looks like lots of fun if you want a little more adventure but not quite ready to crawl on your stomach through holes. Jewel also offers the crawling tour. We will have to go back to check it out.

If you've never seen a cave before then this is for you. I've been to other caves that were much more impressive. The price was a little steep, we also did the 7D gunslinger interactive movie and it was $21 per person for both. If you can't handle climbing stairs, I wouldn't recommend doing the cave tour, best part of the cave is up a steep stairway.

I haven't been to this cave since I was a kid. I thought the new owners did a great job with the upgrades. We all loved the cave tour, kids loved the zip-line and 7d movie. I loved the landscaping and wild flowers.

Overall appearance was great- clean and pretty. Cave guide was dry and to the point- didnt really want to answer questions. Many areas of the cave were dead due to previous self guided tours. Gift shop staff very friendly and informative- kids loved the dog.

We did the cave, the zip-line, and the 7D ride. We loved them all. Cave tour was great. Not too difficult getting around. Zip-line was a quick down and up trip, but pretty exciting seeing as none of us have been on those before. Finished the trip off with the 7D shooting ride. Have younger kids, so we did the robot-cowboy shooting movie. I find those rides exhilarating. It amazes me still how real they feel even though your chair is just jumping around a bit. Can't speak for the Alien or Zombie movies.

I think caves can be a little intimidating, but there's enough open spaces in this cave to keep it comfortable. The price wasn't bad. Sure, it'd be nice if everything was free, but we had a great guide that was very knowledgeable and friendly. So I think we spent $50 for three people and we got a great cave tour and a couple of us went on a wild zip line ride. This was well worth it and made our visit to Mt Rushmore much more memorable and fun.

I was a little scared at first because I do not like small places but was not as cramped as I thought it would be. We all had a GREAT TIME and we would do this again. Going through the mine was the best, the zip-line was OK and the movie was something my grandson cannot stop talking about.

We visited a few years ago with friends and had a blast. After reading some of the recent reviews we decided to go back and check out the 7-D theater - it was AWESOME. We had kids ranging in age from 5 to 16, and everyone, including us, had an absolute blast. I would recommend it to anyone.
