I love the swamp rabbit for bicycling. I ride a towney and just cruise nowadays so i really have to watch out for the "skinny tire" people going way too fast on the trail. It can be dangerous. The trail is very well maintained. On the weekends it can get pretty crowded so going on a weekday is the best. I love riding to travelers rest for lunch. I always eat at the hardware store, their food is always really good.

The food and ambiance here are incredible. The Café is owned by two sisters who love food and people. You feel as if you have known them your whole life.

right within steps on any of the hotels on Main Street in downtown Greenville and just awesome - very well maintained, goes for miles in either in direction and pass lots of waterfalls and history

Excellent gem that goes from downtown Greenville all the way to the beautiful Furman University campus and beyond. It's an EASY 12(ish) mile bike ride, mostly shaded.

The sections through downtown Greenville are amazing. The southern end has one or two big hills, and the section between Greenville and Traveller's Rest feels like you're riding through the forest forever. But overall, it's very well maintained, and has enough traffic to let you not worry about getting stuck if your bike breaks or you get hurt jogging. Whether you want to do the 2-mile downtown stretch or the whole 30-mile trail, it's a great place to exercise.

The trail winds through downtown Greenville and gently slopes up to Travelers Rest, at times following the river. With shade on sections of the trail, cafes and a bike shop along the way and restaurants in TR, it's ideal for families.

I liked that it was all paved. One must be attentive to stay on the correct side and listen for bikes. It's best to go early before it gets crowded.

If you walk round trip from the entrance off Main Street, to the zoo, and back, it is about 4 miles. Very comfortable. Great family day. Bring the dog, bring your bikes and strollers. Falls are nice place to sit and visit, maybe picnic. Don't miss it.

I have biked, run, walked, etc. a number of the country's greenway systems and am always impressed by the beauty and quality of the GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail. Get a map, bring your bike and enjoy your day down in Greenville!

I am an avid cyclist and prefer road to mountain biking. I usually bike on lower traveled back roads in the Moore. SC area. I love the times I have driven over to Greenville to pedal on the Swamp Rabbit... just wish it was closer! It takes almost 30 minutes to get to the parking area after the Falls Park section of the trail. I have parked in Cleveland Park several times and pedaled from there but it is many times too congested through the Cleveland and Falls Park areas.... It is a mostly flat trail and at first has a lot of road crossings. I love the longer sections where you feel like you are way out in the woods. There are also some neat places to stop along the way for food - Swamp Rabbit Cafe and for Ice Cream - in Travelers Rest. It's been several months so I need to head back over to the trail and check out the new section they added at the Traveler's Rest end. You ought to come out and join me... One additional note: plan to visit during the week if possible because the weekends bring much more foot traffic (runners, walkers, strollers) as well as other bikes on the trail (adults and children/newbies).

Greenville locals are soooo lucky to have this trail so easily accessible. The trail is well cared for and great for biking and running. We went on a lovely Saturday morning so of course the trail was busy. There is plenty of parking along the trail. You can ride through Falls and Cleveland parks. Really well done. Loved it and jealous!

I walk and run here several times a week. There are certain areas that I will not run through due to crime. The areas near Travelers Rest are nice. On numerous occasions, I have had bicyclists almost hit me and have had to jump off the trail to keep from getting run over.It seems some cyclists resent it being a walking trail and not exclusively a bicyclist trail. If you are a visitor to Greenville, go downtown to Falls Park or to Paris Mountain State Park.

I live in the area and use this multiple times per week. This is one fo the reasons I chose to live in town and not out in the suburbs.

Since I live in Greer in an area with no sidewalks and twisty two lane roads which are really not all that safe to walk, I end up heading to the Swamp Rabbit to do my long walks which are hard to do on my tread mill. I start at the Zoo and head towards downtown and the cafe. Usually the trail is not crowded and I feel safe as I often see cops on motorcycles, foot or golf carts. The scenery is good up to about the café and then does get a little bland during the winter past that. I have only done about 5 miles from the zoo so can't comment on the trail beyond that but really appreciate having this trail!
