I recommend it as a valuable lesson for all people, especially children, that this is what racism looks like. Hopefully, it will be cast in lucite for eternity, as a testament to things that should stay in the past.

I was very impressed with the amounts of displays in this small Museum. The men here know their history and are enthusiastic to share it. This place is chock-full of South Carolina history, southern history, and Civil War history. Learn the reason for secession from real southerners. This place is a hidden gem worth the visit when traveling to Greenville.

This is a wonderful example of how a few dedicated individuals devoted to maintaining a historical legacy can achieve great things. The museum may be small in physical size, but it is filled with much that will bring emotion to any stalwart devotee of Confederate history. Within this gem of our past is a library where genealogical researchers will find biographies of Confederate heroes and stories of bravery unequaled. Well worth a visit if it is simply to speak with the many volunteers that happily share their knowledge and stories of the Old South.

Even though I/m a yankee, I was given a "Yankee Green Card" for the day by the proprietor. Anyone who has an interest in American History should go there. Donations are accepted. I gave them $20.00.

Wow, expected to spend about 1/2 hr there since it looks small, but our visit lasted more than two hours and we enjoyed every minute of it. Ken offered to explain some of the exhibits to us if we wished, we said yes and are sure glad we accepted his offer. We learned a lot more from him then we would have on our own. He was very interesting. Several other Volunteers also spoke to us (don't have their names), they too were more than willing to answer any questions and offer information about the exhibits. What a great group.

We were very impressed with the museum and library. We were given a private tour by an excellent guide/storyteller. It was awesome to have someone be able to give you little known facts about many items.

Nice local museum, lots of real artifacts. Maintained by local retired men who love to show you their treasures. Also have lots of books on Civil War topics.

This Museum is located in a residential area in a large Victorian house. The many displays are well done presenting the history of the Confederacy. Clothing, firearms and swords, medical equipment and various items of furniture and personal goods are displayed. Period photographs with written descriptions help tell the story, but the big plus is the stories and information the docents will give you if you ask. Usually humorous and interesting. It is FREE, although donations are accepted

At first glance, the museum looks tiny. But once you go inside, it is steeped with historical artifacts, pictures, books and information pertaining to the Civil War. My children liked seeing the Confederate money - and that the bills looked slightly different from state to state. I enjoyed that there were various fact sheets you could take with you to read later. Additionally, the person who worked there knew everything about the Civil War and welcomed questions from visitors.

Step back in time to the American war between the states. Large library to research units, battles, people of the conflict. Great displays an artifacts. Number of cannons on display inside an outside. Uniforms an weapons on display. Very good place to visit an spend some time. Has a gift shop. You learn about history of local units from war. You can look around on own or with guides which are very knowledgable. Photos, maps, swords, artillery shells. Good to visit for youth groups, scouting also.

If you have any interst in the Civil War, you will want to visit this museum. It has many items from the Civil War and the guides have vast knowledge on the collection and the Civil War. It is free but you can make a donation (they do not even ask you to make a donation but are very grateful if you do).

I have to admit I don't know much about Confederate History but after our brief tour of this understated little museum I want to go back and learn even more. Wonderful artifacts from the Civil War period, our docent was rich in his knowledge of the Confederate Era. Large collection of uniforms, weapons, photos, maps and documentation. All of this is FREE (donations accepted). We will be going back!

My mom from NY didn't even want to go at first, but the gentlemen running this museum showed us the true values of the confederates and southern hospitality. We got a tour and learned many things we didn't know about the war.
