This is a must see on Hilton Head. The area is beautiful and well kept. There are great swings to sit on and also an easy path to the beach.

We are normally there out of season so it is perfect to have the dog meet people and play on the beach. When it is not crowded dogs can run off leash and have fun. The beach itself is very clean. Before walking down to the beach which is handicapped accessable there is a beautiful walkway with clean restrooms, water fountains, covered and uncovered sitting areas with lots of benches. They also offer glider swings and rocker chairs. Always a great way to meet people.

Nice and quaint here. Love the shops and eateries. Quiet beach for walking, running, biking, and solitude. Folks are friendly and the dogs were on leashes. Beautiful beach with lots of ocean surprises on the sand such as sand dollars, shells, driftwood and other washed ashore ocean mementos. Love this laid back beach.

The location is great, very central to all parts of the island. The bathrooms, showers, chairs and swings are all well maintained. Love the dancing water !!! Provides great walking up and down the beach as well as close availability to Coligny Plaza.

Loved the very nice area. Loads of free parking. Toilets, showers, seats all good. Very close to the Coligny Plaza shops.

Loved the entrance to this beach area. From the jumping fountains, to the free to use porch swings, great place to people watch.

We visited on March 1, 2015 and it was cold, drizzling and windy. No fee in the parking lots. Lots of shops nearby. The beach is beautiful. There's an area with bench style swings. They have changing stalls and outdoor showers as well. Nice restrooms too. If we return to Hilton Head some day, hopefully it will be when the weather is cooperative so we can walk barefoot on the beach and take a dip in the water. Highly recommend!

I walk to Coligny Beach on a daily basis during my month on Hilton Head Island - about a 3 mile round trip. There are plenty of places to rest at Coligny Beach with swings, rockers, a fountain and amazing beach access for wheelchairs, strollers and bikes. WiFi available courtesy of the town of Hilton Head. Close access to marvelous shops and restaurants.

We were here during a cold spell, but that didnt matter at all! The beach was beautiful and unspoiled! Perfect for shelling and walking!

I think this is the best beach because of the ease of parking, the fountains, the nice relaxing areas to sit. Not to mention the actual beach area. Another great reason to use this beach is that it's close proximity to places to eat, get a snack or ice cream or shop for something you may have forgotten.

This beach certainly has amenities for swimmers and those who just enjoy the beach environment. We came on a chilly day but hikers were enjoying the compacted low-tide sand. Enjoy the swings on the walkway to the beach, take a few pictures of waves breaking, walk or bike with your loved one and feel the cool breeze -or- come back when everything warms up and we'd bet that this is the place to be. Still, be sure to be aware of beach regulations-for example, leave the frisbees and alcoholic beverages at home.

In all the years of travel to H.H., this was the first stretch of cold, rainy and miserable weather we've encountered with no respite whatsoever. The beach was beautiful and wide but very cold (42 degrees). Actually dodged freezing rain this week.Shops here are both fun and accessible. Good grocery stores are close as well : Publix, Whole Foods are but 2 examples.

The beach facilities are excellent - includiing WiFi - and the shops are lots of fun. We always end up purchasing at least one item from one of the stores..

We love staying in a villa that overlooks south forest beach. Frequent walks to caligny beach, park and shopping are part of our daily routine.

This was perfection! In August the water was like bathwater, around 86 degrees. When the tide would go out it would leave lovely little tide pools for the kids (and adults--I won't lie!) to play in. The sand is soft and the beach is very clean and well kept. It was great sandcastle sand. We saw dolphins off of the coast too! This was one of the best family destinations we have been to.
