We had a really nice time checking out this vineyard and distillery even though it was in March. The wines were really great and we were able to learn about the health benefits of this wine as well as how the owner's got started during our wine tasting. We also tasted some vodka's, whiskey's and more at the distillery. All of the employees were so nice and welcoming and we really enjoyed a nice relaxing time out there.

Thank you for your review. Due to county law, since the event wasn't considered a "festival" we had to sell tickets. We agree with you that the lines were way too long and there wasn't enough signage to get the points across. This event is only in its infancy and next year, we are making it a festival so we can collect admission, have parking attendants, etc. We apologize that it was not a good experience for you and hope maybe in the future, you will try us during weekday tastings. Thanks again. Ryan

We enjoyed a wine tasting after a visit to Charleston Tea Plantation and Firefly Distillery. The wines were unique and different, and we all really enjoyed them! The lady who served us for our tasting is a South Carolina native, and she shared lots of interesting information about the wines and the area. This is a nice place to visit, and the drive from Charleston is a scenic country drive!

My husband doesn't dring white wine much, so he only tasted their red. He thought it tasted like grape juice.

We wanted to do the wine tasting but found out that they had ram out of their white wine selections and only had red. The gift store had some cute items but was disappointed about the wines.

My husband and I stopped at the Irvin House Vineyards in October on our way out of Charleston to Georgia. It's about 21.5 miles/35 mins from Charleston. We both like wine, but were hesitant because we thought the muscadine wine would be too sweet. We were pleasantly surprised to find some very nice drinking wines and even purchased some to take with us to our friends' house in Georgia. They have a nice set-up with a separate tasting room where they show you a short, informative video and then give you five tastings with a souvenir glass for $5. We didn't taste the liqueurs (rum, bourbon, vodka, etc.) from the Firefly Distillery co-located with the vineyards, but you can also taste six liqueurs for $6. If you like wine and want to try a different grape, I would highly recommend the wine tasting at the Irvin House Vineyards.

A neat little winery. They make the wine out of a varietal that only grows here in SC and GA. Very interesting taste. Don't expect a bold Napa Cabernet, but really neat to experience. Also the Firefly tour is right beside here, great day out.

When we got there they were closed ( don't go on Monday). We got lucky in that they were preparing to do a private tasting and we were early enough and enough of us to do a special tasting for us. We love visiting wineries where ever we go and this one was no different. Different areas of the country produce different tasting grapes which produce different tasting wines. Most of the wine here was classified a sweet wine but not the usual southern sweet wine we have found down here. We did buy several types of wine here that we enjoyed at the tasting.

We visited here last Saturday, there were seven of us. Wanda was assigned to us. Her friendliness and enthusiasm made our tasting awesome. Although we loved everything, we only bought several of the favors so we can return soon to buy more!

I was a bit disappointed in the wines which are made from Muscadine grapes. These wines are not as sweet as others I have sampled and I am a sweet wine gal. Learning about the grapes, the process, and the folks who made this dream a reality was very interesting.

We did the wine tasting and it was fun. They make 5 wines out of the local grapes. This is a great thing to do if you have some down time. Its about 40 minutes away from Charleston, but worth the drive!

Booked a wine + distillery tasting for a bachelorette party back in August - had an awesome time! It was better than anything I could have even imagined. The setting is gorgeous, a beautiful, relaxed vineyard in the summer. We booked transportation from downtown Charleston with the vineyards recommended Holy City Transportation. This was a fantastic decision - the driver, David, was super friendly, helpful and so accommodating to us rowdy ladies. Our server at the vineyard, Wanda, was THE BEST. We loved her and everything added up to a great time.

We've toured numerous vineyards over the years, and normally you get a tour of the operation, then a small tasting. Here it was just the tasting: $5 for five wines, and you keep the souvenir wine glass. All their wine is from the muscadine grape, so even their "dry" wines are a bit on the sweet side. Right next door is the Firefly Distillery -- if you are at the winery, be sure and stop by the Distillery also. Also close by is theCharleston Tea Plantation, well worth a visit.

While this place is definitely far from downtown charleston, it was a fun stop. The wine tasting is cheap but I would have liked a more personal experience rather than just watching a movie with a group of people. The wine is good though and inexpensive!
