Such a beautiful and peaceful drive threw the mountains. So many beautiful photo ops to take pictures with the family. The scenery is breathtaking. Would love to come back and do a little bit of hiking. Only downfall is there Is no cell service at all. But with the scenery you really don't mind

WE drove from Seatac Seattle to the national park . WE enjoyed the driving all the way to the gate. The park ranger @ the entrance gate was so niced & told us the visitor center is closed buy we can drive all the way to the center. WE are so grateful that they cleared the snow road & can drive without tire chain. WE are blown away of the scenic beauty of the tall pine trees & mountain covered w/ snow. You can get a full view of the mountain when you reach the top 5000 ft plus.There's also a view of the waterfalls on one of the scenic view point. This is a must see & not to be missed when you're in Seattle, WA. Car rental is reasonable @ payless but beware of the automatic roadside assistance they included. They said it's not an option, but, it's an option & you can declined it.

Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park; which is located in the State of Washington is a beautiful park to visit. Whether you are climbing Mt. Rainier; which I did in recent years, or taking family to hike on trails within the park, and view the majestic mountain in the distance. This location promises you rewarding views, and beautiful mountain wildflowers, and fauna.

If you visit on a clear day you will be rewarded with spectacular scenic views. There are many pull offs along the roadway to stop and enjoy the views. There are great hiking trails. There's Rangers are knowledgeable and helpful. Well worth the visit.

Went here in August 2013 to see colorful blooming wild flowers. It can't be prettier. It is a little difficult to get parking here so be prepared for a long walk. The hike was fun when the weather is coorperating.

One of my favorite places to visit is National Parks. We went up there from Spanaway, WA on a Monday. The road is very winding and narrow, so plan on giving yourself plenty of time to be safe. Along the way, there are several pulloffs where there is something of nature exciting to see, such as a waterfall coming down the mountain and under a bridge. Additionally, we stopped at what I will call Rainbow Falls. I am a senior citizen and have had recent foot surgery, but I did not come all the way from Texas not to walk down to the "seeing" point. I kept my hand on my son's back going down because I feared slipping on the loose gravel, but I needed no help going back up. The falls come down the mountain and with the sun shining, there was a rainbow in it. Very Nice. After this, we drove on up to the National Park Lodge. Very typical of a National Park Lodge like at Grand Canyon or Yellowstone, (but not as big as the one at Old Faithful). But it was very nice, great ambience and good gift shop. My son in law and his kids took a hike up the mountain there. They saw fields of flowers and the girls loved it and wanted to go further. We were on a limited time frame, but all 9 of us liked it and I would really like to revisit again and take that hike to see the flowers. This is really nature at its finest--like Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon, etc.--just great to see the natural wonders of this world.

On a clear, sunny day, the views at the park are amazing! Several scenic stops are included in the trail which include the mountain, water, wildflowers and the information center. Mt. Rainier should not be missed!

This trail offers some great views of Mt Rainer! It gets windy up here so dress in layers and have a hood or cap.

Great spot for lunch (bring your bug spray!), and to catch your breath. THE mountain is so close - you can reach out and touch it - almost. Great hike for the whole family - cool off at frozen lake before.

Washington State in itself is beautiful, but rising above the gorgeous trees, cattle, cities and all the other places and sites to see, is Mt.Raineer.On a clear day, which is a rarity Mt.Raineer stands above it all. It is so different than the Rockies, or the mountains of Vermont, Heavenly Valley in Lake Tahoe, or any of the other mountains I have enjoyed, close in greatness to Mt.Shasta in California, but more beautiful and easily seen from almost anywhere within miles of its tremendous peaks. The drive up even on a snowy day is worth the trip. Seeing it from a distance is unbelievable, but actually heading up is exciting, thrilling and hard to keep your eyes on the road for want of taking it all in but once you've made your way up it becomes breathtaking, not for lack of oxygen, but for the views. If you are ever lucky enough to visit the beautiful state of Washington you must make it a point to take the drive up the mountain. As I stated, seeing it from almost any distance is a rare pleasure, but actually seeing the views from above the clouds is a site that you, your children, grandchildren, or any one else that you share the experience with will never forget it, and thank you forever.

Great hike for a fantastic view of Mt. Rainier. The view from the lookout will let you see north to Canada and West to the Olympics.Don't forget your bug spray!

We were fortunate to visit Mount Rainier on a clear day and decided to drive up to Sunrise, rather than Paradise, to avoid some of the crowds. The Sunrise Ridge Trail was perfect for a family hike and picnic.

If you have a half a day I would highly recommend this hike. Most of the glaciers on the eastern and northern slopes of Mount Rainier can be seen. It si somewhat windy towards the Firetower so carry some jackets even in summer. Some portions of the trail are very narrow but still safe. Would recommend the Sunrise ridge trail on the way back

Well worth your time and money. The Alta Vista trail is less challenging with wonderful views. I hiked up to Panorama Point. It was a strenuous hike both up and down.

This hike was strongly recommended by the ranger at the park's entrance. Past the crowds near the visitor center we enjoyed beautiful views on Mount Rainier and on the Cascade range extending to Mount Baker and the Olympic NP. There were more flowers to see than on the other side at Paradise. We met plenty of helpful volunteer rangers on the way. We also met plenty of mosquitoes that clearly enjoyed pumping our blood several times despite the load of DEET sprayed on us.
