I have been to Cathedrals throughout Europe and the States. For a small Cathedral in the Pacific Northwest, this Cathedral is simply stunning. Would have liked to attend mass here, but our schedule did not permit, so we visited on a weekday and activities at the church were minimal and parking was not a problem. There we no guided tours, so that was bummer, and literature about the church was scarce. So we simply took the time to enjoy the architecture, the grand space and awesome stained glass and a few minutes to be thankful for all of our blessings!

Beautiful traditional church. Awesome architecture and excellent choir for the wedding we attended there. Great tradition and ceremony

I know this is wrong, but. Our parish Priest retired and he was replaced with a Priest that speaks English as a second language. My husband could not understand him. So down to the Cathedral we went. We have found a new home. It is beautiful, a great organ and everyone just welcomed you in.

This is a beautiful church but the parking is somewhat limited. It is just west of downtown Spokane.

We were staying at the Spokane Club and decided to drop into the 11:00 mass before leaving town. I sat in the back row (I'm neither Catholic not christian). I overheard the priest say to the alter boy "make sure you wait until the song is over before you approach the altar because I love this song." At first I thought it odd, but quickly realized what he meant once the music started. If you want to hear beautiful hymns on a beautiful pipe organ then it is worth an experience. Also, it is located in a beautiful little corner of Spokane,

I'm not Catholic, or even ANY religion for that matter, but there is something very soothing about the sacred space and beautiful architecture of old churches. We visited three while in Spokane (Presbyterian, Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes and Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist). When we were visiting with the groundsman at the Presbyterian church, he told us that the three front doors (bronze) on Our Lady of Lourdes, were cast by a local artist who used faces/images of local residents for the images. We had driven by this cathedral, (Cathedral of Our Lady of Lourdes), looking for someplace else and decided we had to stop and take a look around. I took a lot of photos. The church was locked so we were unable to get a look inside. This is a "mother church", and was built in 1915. The website has some more photos.

An easy walk from downtown Spokane, the Cathedral offers a full Mass schedule, inspiring music, and traditional Mass service.

This is a beautiful old Cathedral. They offer an early morning service which is short and sweet in a beautiful old church. It gives you some quiet time to realize how grateful we all should be.

An interesting piece of more modern church culture. A good different to see, even if you're not planning to go to a service.

it says that it's open but when we went it was closed due to Easter holiday mass luckily the business manager was leaving the church and was able to tell us the secret way to get in we had to be very quiet because they were prepping for Easter Mass but the site takes your breath away the church inside is miraculous and marvelous very beautiful stained glass windows that are timeless inside of church it's got its own private parking so you don't have to worry about parking downtown and during the daytime hours you don't need to worry about a flash for your camera

it's open, the Priest is willing to walk you through it! GloriousI felt as if God himself painted the lovely stained glass. It is a reflection to God and the statue of Jesus is amazing!

This is a lovely cathedral, except for the inexplicable and horrible interior changes from the 1970s. Among other things, the acres of bright blue indoor/outdoor carpet and an enormous, concrete Greek cross looming over the interior defy description they are so ugly. However, the stained glass windows alone are worth the visit. The good news is that the 70s changes are curable and the cathedral can be brought back to its original magnificence.

This is a beautiful cathedral with stained glass that is worth going just to see and admire. I'm not an expert on architecture but I think this is one of Spokane's more interesting buildings.
