Very pretty well cared for picnic areas and restrooms. Hiked the evergreen trail, it was easy enough for anyone, nice old growth trees, very peaceful. Well maintained trails, this is bear and berry season, so be prepared and careful, I did not see any, but did make some noise while hiking.

This gave us our best chance to see undisturbed Pacific Coastal rainforest. We only had a couple of hours, but the Evergreen Trail took us straight into the old-growth forest, which was wonderful. Well worth the modest price of admission.

Great place to hike and eat but the campground is currently and indefinitely closed. Check before planning on camping here.

While talking with a park ranger, we asked where would be a good place for us to eat our picnic lunch. He directed us to take the first right when turning into RSP. What a wonderful, quiet place for a picnic (mid-September). The river was flowing just next to us as we ate at a picnic table. Rest room just around the corner, too!

Located 0.6 miles west of Rockport in old growth forest it is a great place for a relaxing picnic lunch. (No overnight camping is currently allowed. Day use only.) Being a State Park there is a fee for access though. Good spot for bird-watching, hiking ... or looking at trees. (no boat launch that I know of ... )The other option for camping actually in Rockport is the Howard Miller Steelhead County Park which sits on open land right on the Skagit River. Folk often confuse the County Park (S. of SR20) with the State Park (N. of SR20). Yes, the boat launch is there.Either site is packed with tourists during the summer so plan ahead.

If you are in to Outdoors or just like the mountains, this is the place for you. on Jan 6th, we were here to watch the Bald eagles and saw about 20-25 of the eagles. It has some breath taking views. Great area for camping nearby and campfires.
