I had read good reviews of Cow Creek on TripAdvisor before our overnight stop in Ritzville. When we walked in, we were not impressed and left. However there is not much to choose from to eat in Ritzville so we returned and hesitantly sat down at a booth to make our selections.My wife had a turkey melt sandwich and a bowl of vegetable soup. I order a small vegetarian pizza. The waitress said everything they served was home made. She was right it was fantastic ! The young waitress gave us excellent service with a sincere smile. I wish I had gotten her name. Very nice young lady.If you are stopping for gas, or spending the night, don't be deceived by the looks of the Cow Creek Mercantile. The food and service are outstanding !!!

Had lunch in the cafe. Excellent food! I had the chicken Parmesan sandwich and my guy had the chicken Caesar wrap. Excellent! Good portion too and friendly service. The gift store has a lot of fun stuff too. If you are passing though this is a great place to stop.

Enough said. If you are traveling through at a meal time or happen to stay on your way west or east on I-90, nice place to stop and something different that chain food.

This is a family owned restaurant/merchandise business. They have wonderful food, hard workers and great Washington State based gifts. If you are traveling along I-90 from the East or West, I recommend you stop and see this unique business!

We stayed Cedars Inn here in Ritzville. Next door to the Cow Creek Mercantile. We decided to walk over to check their menu. It was good. I had a Spinach/cheese/bacon/ and tomato quiche. It was tender, moist and VERY good. And, a nice size portion. Also has a Pea Salad. Had lots of ham, cheese and boiled eggs cut up real tiny in it. Very tasty. The gift shop was interesting. Some nice things, and a great selection of funny greeting cards. It was a pleasant evening...except for check out. Seems the cashier was on the phone somewhere, and I waited at least 5 minutes..maybe longer. There were several people behind me in line waiting to pay, and everyone was starting to get a little up tight. But, she came out and apologized and took out money. I'd go back again.

When traveling, we always enjoy when we can find food choices within walking distance to our hotel. Cow Creek Mercantile is close to the Best Western. We ordered a pizza to go. It was...okay. I would try a different menu item if I were to visit again.The gift shop was cute and unique.

These folks offer a range of interesting stuff that the ladies cannot live without. A Little bit of just about everything all at very reasonable prices.They have unique items you will not see anywhere else.

This shop is full of all the things you expect from a road trip gift shop... nice selection of candy, cards and gifts from wacky to sweet. I found nothing exceptional about the contents of the store but the staff was friendly and the bathrooms were clean.
