It took me about 15 years spending much of my summer in Osoyoos before I even heard about this ghost town. If you like 'old stuff' and are interested in history, go here! It is definitely worth the 20 minute drive from Orville. There is a beautiful early 1900s school house/museum (by donation) as well as a number of structures in Molson that you are free to explore on your own: bank, homes, law firm, church, etc. I spent about three hours there, took a ton of pictures, and could have lingered longer.

My parents live in Molson, so every time I visit them I have to go over to the outdoor museum! When my kids were growing up, we would go visit every year! Great for teaching kids about the gold mining history of the area and how things were built up in a hurry and went kaput just at as fast!

I love this place. There are no restaurants or stores here. This is a ghost town and a museum. My team did a historical research on this place and were invited by the Okanogan Historical Society. I suggest that you either stop by Oroville a nearby town with great restaurants or better yet stop by the nicest grocery store there, Fill the picnic basket with goodies and take it up to Molson and enjoy it by one of the lakes there. This place blew my mind. Many of the old buildings are open; a bank, homestead dwellings, barn etc. A pioneer experience at its original best. Very interesting and educational. The way it was, right in front of you. Pick a sunny day and spend all of it at this exceptional site. A picnic would be in order.

This is really a piece of authentic Okanogan County history. Free admission and lots of things to see. It's not the most accessible place in the world, with country roads and in the middle of nowhere, but well worth spending a few hours visiting. It's a special treat for history buffs; none of the commercialized cowboy stuff, just a fabulous vignette of how people lived in that time and place.

We drove from Wannacut Late out to Molson, what a beautiful drive out there. And the Museum was fun to walk around. Kids enjoyed looking at eerything and even walking up to the old school.

A good collection of artifacts from the late 1800's to early 1900's in the old schoolhouse. There was no entrance fee in 7/2012, donations were requested. Took about 1 1/2 hours, or you could take longer depending on your level of interest, to tour the school house and look at the old buildings from the original settlement just down the road from the school house.

The museum is very well done and the ghost town is a marvel - there is something so weird about being up in the highlands in the middle of nowhere, in a completely non-commercialized ghost town!

possibly one of the most "laid back" museums I have ever visited The Farm equipment, home stead, bank etc are really something from a bye gone era. Anywhere else in the world most of the artifacts would have been "lifted" as there is no security and you are free to wander. The school is superb with one of the best collections of tools I have ever seen. The staff are all volunteers and the carrot cake and smartie cookies are to die for.The staff in the school just love their "work" an make history come alive. No admission fee, just a donation if you wish.We saw it on a miserable rainy day and it added a different dimension I am sure to what you would see on a sunny day . Also travelling from Osoyoos, the price of gas is an added bonus!

Wonderful story behind this little "ghost" town. Well presented. Interesting displayed. FREE! Just pull off the road and wander around at your own pace. Family friendly. Lots of interesting old farm equipment and tools, homesteader cabins, old bank, etc. Molson museum just up the road also an excellent FREE museum. Donations appreciated. Small gift shop with the best carrot cake you have ever had! Clean restrooms and knowledge, friendly volunteer staff that will be happy to see you. Handicap accessible.

The Old Molson Museum & Ghost Town was the highlight of our trip to Okanogan County. The ghost town buildings are completely open to visitors. There are a ton of antiques as well. It was really neat to be able to really explore the old buildings and take in the history of a Washington gold rush town. The price is donation only. There is also a great museum at the old school house with a friendly and knowledgeable guide who used to teach there. This is definitely worth the visit!
