The tasting room is in Winthrop. The staff are relaxed and know the excellent wines. I suggest you purchase a bottle or a case. You can't go wrong. You can bring some bread and cheese and enjoy a picnic on the patio. While large corporate wineries want you to think they are small family operation, this place is the real thing. The care comes through in the wines. The wines have the complex flavors not found in corporate wines nor at this price break

We visit the Tasting Room in Winthrop and it was awesome! We were greeted with a smile and complimentary tastes. This is a wonderful local winery doing things right. We all walked out with some wine to remember our trip

This was a *major* surprise. We were heading to the Mazama area from Winthrop and knew from Winthrop's 'Things to Do' tab on their website that Lost River was on our way. We thought what the heck might as well check it out since we're both fully paid up card carrying wine geeks. Liam who was behind the tasting bar gave us a warm greeting, a quick history of Lost River and we began the tasting. Started with a couple of whites, moved through the rose and onto a couple of big reds. During the course of the tasting John arrived so we had the opportunity to meet the owner/winemaker. We were curious about the extraordinary quality given that they are in Winthrop. Mystery explained - Before John works the winemaker's art he begins by sourcing grapes from vineyards in some of the best wine growing regions in Washington. We bought the maximum allowance that we are allowed to take back to Canada plus a couple of bottles that we could enjoy at our cabin during the balance of our stay. This is a must do if you have any interest in wine at any level. This is a super friendly family owned winery with a great product offering at a good price.

Met Liam (and June the GWHP). Spent a very nice 20 minutes discussing the current wines and sampling most. Something for everyone in the group. Tasting was free and we got 10% Discount by buying a case. Fun way to start our get away.

Very nice wines for the price. A "house red" that locals purchase in a refillable bottle is very drinkable and their best value. Only open Friday, Saturday, and Monday in winter.

We enjoyed meeting the host dog, a sweet female GSP.
