Only a few RV spots, but they are {{big}}, {{spacious}}, and semi-private! What a great, clean, beautiful campground this is! Lots of tent camping, where they let the grass grow up to about 4'-5' high between the spots for more privacy, so wonderful! Lot's of hiking, biking, and river fishing available here, as well as a 'huge' area for playing all kinds of family lawn games! Reasonably priced, this is Kind County's only overnight campground. But get there early, no reservations taken, and the 'non-working' people get there days early to reserve their spots! Well worth going and enjoying!!!

When considering the location.Tolt McDonald is a city-run park, so it is surprising that is is so well-built and run.The grass is mowed during the Spring/Summer every week.It has a small leash-less dog park located between it and the local IGA.The paved paths offer miles of pathways and the unpaved connection to Nick Lautsis Park is a splendid walk worth taking (roughly 2+ miles from the RV park). We frequent the park year-round and it is always in working condition.

Our family has camped here twice and we are looking forward to returning next summer. The first year we stayed in a yurt, and the second year we brought a tent. The park offers a lot for kids to explore: walking across the suspension footbridge, splashing in the river, and hiking along the many trails. The tent/trailer sites are along the east side of the river. There is a large flat, paved area for kids to ride bikes, as well as a giant play field and a bathroom/shower facility. The yurt sites are located on the other side of the river, with no vehicle access. Be prepared to load all of your gear into a wheelbarrow for a trek across the suspension bridge. Both are great options to get away from it all, so close to Seattle.

Visited Tolt MacDonald Park for the "Beat the Blerch" 5K/Half Marathon/Marathon. Beautiful trails. Well-cared for and planned. Recommend for trail walk or running. Be sure to stay hydrated and wear layers. Weather can go from foggy and cool and overcast to sunny and warm and back again. Enjoy!

John Mac Donald is a very large King County park. It is located off the main road through Carnation WA. We stayed in our travel trailer for 3 nights over Memorial Day weekend. The weather was decent about half the time--typical spring weather in the NorthWest... Our only complaint is that most of the time the bathroom toilets were in deplorable condition (did not flush and dirty) and there was no soap in all of the dispensers. We walked the trails down to the Tolt River, rode our bikes around the campground, picnicked and visited around our campfire (bring your own wood). Be aware that the date to the park is locked shut at night. The cost to camp is $30 per night. There are yurts for rent across the river via a pedestrian bridge.

Tolt (not Told) McDonald Park is more than meets the eye at first. It is a park run by the small-town city Carnation, once known for its dairy farms. From the parking lot you can see playing fields and a campground for RVs. There are semi-hidden trails along the Snoqualmie River. There is a long suspension foot-bridge over the river connecting to more trails and a tent campground with shelters run by the local Boy Scouts. The park trails are well enough removed from civilization to feel secluded even though you are next to a city. Very good for dog-walking, just remember that you need bags!
