A great place to camp or to stop over and stretch your legs. There is a nice campground on site with indoor bathrooms and showers. Fishing on the Red River of the North is great. There are a wide variety of fish that can be caught at this location. There is a fish cleaning station with running water, fishing piers, and a boat ramp on sight.

Admittedly, it's tough to get a sense of the size of this sculpture based on the photos. But it's called by the locals the world's largest catfish at 40 feet long and 12 feet tall, and who are we to disagree? It's a big one.The fish is on a man-made hill in Wahpeton, which is south of Fargo. The town and the fish are both on the banks of the Red River. This makes up the border between Minnesota and North Dakota for long stretches, flowing north into Lake Winnipeg and eventually heading for Hudson Bay. One report on Roadsideamerica.com said when the river floods, it looks as if the catfish is swimming. But we're happy to report that the water level was at a safe level during our visit. It's about 10 minutes off the Interstate, and located in the Kidder Recreation Area. Nearby is a fine-looking sign, welcoming people to Wahpeton when they cross the bridge from Minnesota.

This is a huge catfish sitting on the shore of the Red River of the North on the Breckenridge side of the river. This is a kid magnet. It's a halk block away from the park and close to so many eating places as well as the Wahpeton Zoo. Remember to bring your camera!

This is another one of those attractions that are funny and fun to take a picture with. You know the story about Jonah and the Whale? Well this is the Red River version.

Had to detour off the highway about 10 miles but that wasn't so bad. It was located in a little park area. When we went it was the off season, so no one was there but in the summer it would probably be pretty packed. Bring your camera to take pics. Super short trip. This has been my least favorite world's largest figure. There were no informative signs to tell you details. This was the 3rd world's largest sculpture that I have seen in ND & it was disappointing compared to others. Not that big compared to the others, either.
