Great cycling, beach-going, and walking. There's an ease in the air that translates into whatever you decided to do (or not to do). Favorites are walking from the Huntington Beach pier toward Newport, on the sand. About 3.5 miles, one way, and breath-taking.

Beaches and shopping around Huntington Beach are awesome. The dog beach in particular is a well kept, excellent place to take your pet for play with other dogs and their owners.

Perfect beach. Lifeguards, bathroom, plenty of parking all along the coast. Clean beach. non smoking beach. TRaffinc on Labor day week-end was bad but the beach was not that crowdy.

My husband grew up in the area and we had an opportunity to take a quick Labor Day trip, What a beautiful beach!!! What amazing surroundings!!! Loved the pier!!!! Rented beach cruisers and rode forever! Ate clam chowder at Ruby's (it's a must)... Enjoyed the beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean, CLEAN!!!! Can't wait to go back!!!

Southern OC from LA to San Diego is a nice drive to get a feel of southern California Lots of motels up and down the run.

Nicest stretch was from Huntington Beach up into Laguna. Nice drive with plenty of options to see beaches, shop or eat along the coast.

If you are looking for gorgeous sunny beaches, the drive along the Orange County Beaches is so nice. I usually start it a bit further north; my drive is Long Beach to Dana Point or vice versa. There is so much to see and do along the way. Some things we have enjoyed:1) Long Beach - Queen Mary, aquarium2) The beach parks - Huntington Beach, Crystal Cove State Beach personal favorites3) Watching the surfers and walking the pier at Huntington Beach4) Taking a walk and looking for birds at the Bolsa Chica Ecological Reserve5) Renting a boat or taking a boat ride and seeing the luxury mansions around Balboa Bay (and if it is December and timing is right - the holiday boat parade is superb)6) Taking the ferry from Newport Beach to Catalina (of course that is a full day trip).7) Cheesecake Factory at Fashion Island in Newport Beach (lunch or dinner)8) Laguna Beach - gorgeous breach, art galleries and in the summer Pageant of the Masters; perhaps dinner at one of the restaurants or splurge at one of the luxury restaurants along the coast with stunning ocean views.9) Dana Point - nice boat channel.....and perfect for a picnic.Amazing day just driving this stretch......Its one of the best in California for a "sunny" beach type vacation drives in California. In January it is in particular pleasant as traffic is lighter than in the peak summer beach monthsI have done this drive numerous times. There is a lot more to see/do on this route but just wanted to mention a few of my favorite things.

Amazing views along the OC Coast. Take your time and drive and stop along the way. Try to go during mid-day/non-rush hour.

I was impressed with the cleanliness and friendliness of everyone we worked with. Great time. Facilities were also accessible and easy to find.

Rented a car for the afternoon and headed south on PCH. Stopped on Balboa Peninsula and went across to Balboa Island on ferry in our car. Takes a few minutes and costs $3.00. Drove south to Laguna Hills and Dana Point. Had lunch at the harbor in Dana Point and then headed back North to Huntington Beach.

Even the ocean water is cold all year round, you can still surf and enjoy the beaches, which are always clean and with plenty of space. HB is a wonderful city to live in.......

OMG , love reading the tourists reviews of OC coast, though on TA the location was situated Northern region of OC, just past Sunset beach - which actually is ending of Sunset going south , Bolsa Chica State beach , along Huntington City Beach - Huntington State Beach - , then Newport - [ maybe Corona Del Mar ?] then , Crystal Cove State , and then Laguna Beach , etc.anyhow we love it ALL,and have visited, ran, jpgged , swam, boogie board, lay around on the sand , bon- fires -at these beaches and everyone has is own distinct style...us locals should be in awe of what we have here in south OC and I'm for one thank God, for our lifestyle and beautiful scenery !

We LOVE Orange County coast. Met my husband there in 1983 in Newport Beach in a bar called Bobby McGees. The bar is long gone, but our memories remain. Our family loves to go to Orange County coast - so much so that our daughter moved there in August!

Spent the entire day here soaking up the sun. Incredible views. Incredible weather. Loved watching the surfers in the water and the pier. Just an all around great beach. The only thing that could have been improved was if I could have found somewhere to park that didn't cost. But what can you do.
