What a cool idea to have ice skating in Tahoe!!! We had a lot of fun... Definately recommended to all ages when you are visiting Tahoe.

This is the only real big ice rink in the entire Reno Tahoe area. All the rest of the dinky ice patches at the ski resorts are for children and tourists. I have speed skates and this is the only place I can actually use them and get up some speed. I like coming early as I can to avoid the crowds of children. Some of the teenage boys try to keep up with me, but they just can't on those hockey skates. Speaking of skates, if you have you own, you'll be way better off, as like with most rinks, the rentals are all worn out and floppy. The ice is usually kept in pretty good condition. The rink is open year round, but in summer I'd rather be out riding my bike.

A really nice ice rink. The ice is in good shape, the building is bright and clean, easy to get to, plenty of parking. They serve food and drinks and rent skates, and they are located in a beautiful pine forest a few minutes walk from the lake, so you can bring a group of people and everyone will find something to do. It's a good way to spend a few hours in this area, fun, healthy and cheap.

If people are interested in ice skating it is very easy to get to. It has nice decorations and music.

We LOVE hockey. So to see games here is great. Everything is close up and you can see all the action. What's not to like?

It was fun, but they closed early and we didn't get to skate very much. It was not worth it for the $80 it costs to get up their with the lift. I woudl advise you to get there early in the day so that your money is worth it. We ended up hanging out at the bar instead even though our whole trip was revolved around the ice skating. 8-(

It is very cold in there. The ice is kept in good condition. Lack of authority/supervision is nowhere to be found. Like some have said here, it is free for all skating. I witnessed an adult skater get tripped up and hurt from a child who had no business being out on the ice. The other disappointing factor here is they have no specific section roped off or coned off for little kids. My daughter is seven and that was the first time she ever ice skated. I had to take her out in the open area to teach her how to balance and skate. They DO NOT have trainers for kids/beginners. That is a must at all ice rinks. They did have four or five BUCKETS stacked upside down to use as a training but that is not safe at all.The price was reasonable. The snackbar wasn't opened at the time of visit. Parking is free in the area which is shared with a indoor pool and park. I wouldn't recommend this place for beginners or young kids.

Nice rink, reasonable price. Kids able to skate for 2 hours. Walking distance from the hotel and ski lifts. Ample area for parents to watch kids skate.

My daughter loves to go there to ice skate. The only thing I did not like was that no one seemed to be supervising the skaters. Some people were going the wrong way, but no one stopped them.

I had always been skating on the rollers but never on the ice. Though this was the first time i was skating on the ice, i loved the rink and it was fun being around there. The charge was only $9 with $3 skate rentals.

$20 at the Heavenly Village teeny tiny crowded ice rink, or $7 at the huge hockey sized ice arena? Say no more.

We've been to Tahoe for 3 years but this was the first time we tried the local ice arena. This is not the ice rink in Heavenly Village. This is the city ice rink. The kids loved it so much we went twice. I think they liked it better than skiing, which was great since the snow wasn't very good later in the week. You can rent skates and skate during their open skate times. Huge rink with big window to the trees outside. We skated while a snow storm hit so we could see the snow falling the whole time we skated. Very clean, big snack area, good restrooms, bleachers for watching inside by the rink, and crates/barrels to help young, new skaters. There was hardly anyone there both times we went. Very affordable too. I think it only cost $10 to rent skates for adults. You can skate the whole time during the open skate. Bundle up though. It's colder inside the rink than outside. We even needed hoods/hats as adults. The kids wore their ski helmets, although the rink has free helmets for kids to use too. Great alternative to skiing or nice way to take a break.

yoiu pay one time and you can come back anytime. Its a central location too, to make a break for lunch or dinner

$20 for adults, $15 for kids. Rink was about 30 feet in diameter - small enough to grade with a riding lawnmower, which they did. Good sound system, kids had fun, but awfully pricy for a family of 4.
