I really enjoyed my day at Mountain high. The snow was plentiful and mostly in great shape. The shop has a good cross section of clothing and sundries. The food in the lodge is average, but the grill and bar are nice. The winter sport school is outstanding. I participated in the senior stars program that offers a 1/2 day class, lift ticket and rental equipment for $50 each Wednesday. What a bargain! I love how easy this resort is to get to.

We just had a major Winter storm in Southern California, so I went skiing the other day at Mt. High. The snow was good, but the crowds were terrible. I think they OVER SELL tickets, because the lines of cars just to get into the Resort parking lot were stop & go, over one hour long to drive about 15 miles! GET THERE EARLY! If you want to avoid the Ski Lift lines, then contact Cindy in Group Sales, and you can buy a "Front of the Line" pass, and/or sign up for Private Ski Lessons.....

The torch parade was nice, and the night skiing was very good since the night before the mountain had received 4-8 inches of fresh powder.

Mt High is small compared to many resorts, and conditions haven't been the best in the past years, but if you don't want a long and winding drive it's great. It's more of a park resort than a long run resort. It gets crowded on weekends, so I try to avoid it during those times. It's not a terrible place, but there are much better resorts out there. I live nearby that's why I always go.

My family and I were on a 3 week round California tip of a lifetime and we decided to have 3 days skiing over Christmas. Some friends also decided to join us so we were a mix of skiers and boarders. Well what can I say. Having skied in some of the best places in Europe we have probably been a bit spoilt - but this is America for goodness sake and I was expecting so much more!!! The lifts were old, slow and have no safety bars - apart from one and even that didn't have the foot rest. Although the staff were friendly they couldn't care less when you express your dissatisfaction. The rental equpiment is of a VERY poor standard. My skis had no sharp edges at all and when I mentioned this the guy simply said "well you can take them to the workshop for a service" Surely that should be done before you rent them out!!! I shouldn't have to waste my valuable ski time waiting to get hire skis serviced. The lines for the lift passes and ski rentals were also long and it seems like such a silly system to have to buy it all in one place. usually at resorts you have a place to go for rentals (where you pay there) and one for lessons (where you pay there) and one for lift passes. This resort is all in one place so therefore the lines are long and slow. Its a small resort and we had done it all in four hours. Admittedly they didn't have much snow so alot of it wasn't open but even so its small and poorly thought out. We were so dissapointed but made the best of our 3 days there.

My family and I were visiting Disneyland from out of state, and decided to take advantage of the fresh snow that had fallen and get in some skiing as well. Got my 6 year old lessons as she had never been on skis before, and she had a blast in the full day ski school! Enjoyed some food and drinks, and was surprised at the quality of the food as well. All of the staff that we encountered were great as well! The only issue I saw with the place, was that the staff could really use some help. It was as if they weren't expecting a big crowd on the Saturday that we went, even though they had just received more than a foot of fresh snow. Getting our rental gear was an experience, as they just had 1 guy working, and he was definitely overwhelmed. He almost didn't have enough equipment to get everybody taken care of either. My daughter was a little late for her lesson, even though we arrived more than an hour before it was supposed to start. Apparently some things had changed recently as well, and some of the staff was unaware of where we needed to go to get our equipment and lockers. They were having issues with bathrooms as well. We would definitely return to the resort if we're ever in the area again though.

Gets croweded so come early. Food is somewhat overpriced but you can bring your own. Two mountains to ski/board with lots of jumps and jibs all throughout the resort. Take advantage of the point system tickets.

This is my first ever Ski experience ... in fact we went as a group of 7 and its first ever time for all of us... we never imagined that we would have a memory of a life time there... You can get a instructor led training for Ski and snow boarding before you actually start ski or snow board...Before training we tried many ways to do ski but never do it without falling.... The instructor is very experienced and we got to know the basics of Skiing and finally i was able to ski without falling .... It was a life time experience...definitely worth visiting this place and ski or snowboard!!Ensure you have the winter wear including gloves when you go there.... once you are on the carpet to ski your hands will start to freeze if you are not wearing hand gloves!!

I like Mountain High Resort because it is close to home and they have pretty good runs for average to advanced skiers. They have food and beer also. Their prices seem pretty reasonable. You get there in no time in a fairly fast pace.

This resort is small and has no attraction for non-skiers. Otherwise the tracks are well kept and it is not busy. We went in midweek and there were no lines at the lifts.

Wow!! My nephew has a learning disability. He has taken lessons several times, but has a lot of trouble focusing on what the instructor is saying. Mountain High offers an amazing package for children and adults with a disability. A THREE HOUR lesson, private instruction, equipment rental, and an all mountain lift ticket for less than $100. He had a great experience. His instructors were patient and encouraging. They were able to get him to refine his skills and make real progress.THANK YOU MOUNTAIN HIGH!!! for thinking about All children.

This resort is a local favorite for skiing and snowboarding fans. About 1.5 hours from LA it's an easy drive without winding roads, but also VERY popular! If heading up after a heavy snowfall, be sure to go EXTRA EARLY to avoid doubling commute time and the long lines at the ticket window....been there, done that!!! Parking close avoids long walk from car and less stress for everyone! Helpful tips: rent equipment in advance: take advantage of group rates...a steal for scouts; look for discounts at supermarkets; secure lift ticket correctly to clothing to avoid delays through automatic turnstiles; for lunch, try the outside grill (21 and over only) it's pretty good; don't wear headphones on slopes so you can hear call-outs and avoid collisions; much shorter lines and less congestion above beginner slopes and away from jumps; shuttle service from/to east-west resorts. Keep in mind, Mt. High is NOT Mammoth or Big Bear, but good chance you won't get motion sickness on the drive and will complete a lot more runs for a lot less $ so have fun!

Well groomed snow, modern lifts, great views of Baldy & the Mojave, with better skiing at the East resort with 1600 ft of vertacle on mostly intermediate trails. LOts of borders at Mt High West, but both area havew fine snow-making. And those of us +70 can ski ffree! Phil in Claremont

We went up to the hill to eat and have a couple drinks. The bartender was amazing. Honestly, we go our for drinks often on our trips and find small towns aren't always the best to tourist. However, she was exceptional! I would put her name so you can ask for her but I was afraid that may not be ok. Oh and another local came and hung out who was very nice and friendly. Again not something we see as tourist from locals in the small towns. So this was a pleasent surprise.
