You can pick your own strawberries, they have a shop that sells homemade jams, syrups and have nick nacks. The bakery makes the best pies to take or eat there .. Highly recommend.

One of my favorite spots to stop in all of Santa Cruz County. It's quiet, peaceful, and amazing pies (if you make it in time get the apple dumpling). I've been going there for years when I want to get away from the city life and have one of the many pies they have to offer made fresh everyday. You can pick your own apples (what there known for) and berries if you want to do something fun with the family. I can't say enough how much i love this spot so your just going to have to see it for your self.

This is a fun hole-in-the wall stop if it's on your way, but I would not go out of my way to stop here. The bakery line was immense and very slow moving - it took at least half an hour to get to the front of the line. Even more frustrating was the interaction once we got to the front; we ordered two pieces of pie, and the cashier returned with a single slice of pie with ice cream on it (which costs extra). Then she asked if we wanted anything else, and I asked again for the second slice of pie (which was given correctly, without the ice cream). I pointed out I didn't want the ice cream and she told me twice that I had asked for it, and then waited to take the ice cream away until I reaffirmed that I really did not want the ice cream. After all that, the pie was nothing spectacular. It was cold and every so slightly soggy. It was a cute roadside stop and perhaps the other parts of the ranch are more fun, but I can't recommend the bakery after that experience!

After picking strawberries with our grandkids, we walked around and they enjoyed the play area. We then visited the little store to purchase juice and pie. I could not have asked for better pie (ollieberry). Can't wait to go back.

We visited Gzdich in prime strawberry season time. For a small fee, they let you pick your own wonderful strawberries (Yum). They have other fruit as well. There is a store where we bought some other berries given its berry season; there is also a yummy pie store where you can buy pies by the slice or by the whole pie. There is a nice outdoor seating area to enjoy your piece of pie if you so choose. The people at Gzdich are so very nice. Its a great stop to make if you like fruit or you like pie, as they always have the absolute best.

My parents took me here for the first time 30 years ago. I've been coming back ever since. This is a great family farm where your children can learn about agriculture and farming. Kids can pick apples and enjoy freshly pressed apple cider and apple pie.

We took our preschooler to Gizdich a few times in August to pick strawberries and raspberries and then again during apple season. The you pick prices are great, very reasonable, and they encourage taste testing as you pick (within reason- don't eat the entire field and not buy any berries!) The prices inside the shop for pre-picked produce etc. are quite high. The fields are well maintained and there is more than enough room to pick undisturbed even on a busy day. They provide baskets for the picking and you can either pay $1 for a large cardboard box to bring them home in or you can bring your own container. There are port-a-johns in the field, but the soap/water didn't seem to work at the sinks each time that we went, so you might want to bring hand sanitizer. The ranch is primarily an apple orchard (with other produce during the other seasons). They have a great program in the fall where you can come out to see the apple cider being made and take a tour on Saturdays. They also allow field trips for a more hands on experience for the kids- again very reasonable and very worth the effort to organize! So if you want an inexpensive family day out in the California sun and some of the sweetest berries (or apples, etc.) that you've ever tasted, take the drive out to Gizdich!

old fashioned good time, great service, great people, great pie! We always make a stop there during apple season and especially for berry picking in the summer. Have been going there since I was a kid and brought my kids there. Recommended! Bring your own picnic too.

This is a working farm with a pie barn and parking. Come in and get in line, as there is always a crowd. Buy a full pie or a piece of pie with a huge helping of ice cream. Take it outside and eat it under the trees. If you can find a better pie anywhere, I'd like to know about it.

This was a lovely drive coming from Los Banos, CA to reach the Gizdich Ranch. The end of September was a good time of year to bring 3 toddlers on an apple-picking expedition! We had brought our own bags, but they have them there if you need to use theirs. I would strongly suggest you arrive close to when it opens up....9am. By the time we got ready to leave, shortly after 11am, the Ranch was packed with families and their children out picking several varieties of apples. Today they were all priced at $1.40 per pound. After gathering our apples and paying for them we walked over to a play area designed especially for young children. There was a fun triple-stacked hay stack, farm-size tractor and other yard toys for the children to play with. Don't dress in your Sunday best! Lots of dirt, but that's what you should expect when you're out picking apples! Restrooms were clean. Plenty of parking (if you arrive early!). We stopped for a delicious piece of apple pie (other varieties were available) and some apple juice + coffee. There is also a gift shop on site. Lovely way to spend the day with the grandchildren!
