What a beautiful secret in Vacaville, CA! A redwood grove, near Vacaville's Pena Adobe Park. Enjoy trails to bike, jog, walk, or stroll with your beloved pet (leash required). The hills, redwoods and botanical garden are wonderful. We saw giant hawks soaring above, so close you could see their enormous wingspan. Jack Hume Grove in particular is named after a Vacavile native who co-founded Basic Vegetable Products Co. The entire area is managed by the City of Vacaville and the Pena Adobe Historical Society. There's also a historic cabin structure and museum that offers regular tours. It is a California Historical landmark which was the former home of the Pena family, one of the first group of settlers to arrive in Solano County.
