The Miller Vineyard (MV) and Winery is a very small boutique winery with pours made by its owner/winemaker, who was very knowledgeable and interesting. I was immediately "wow'd" by the first pour, the Chardonnay, which I believe is the best I ever had. The reds were also extremely good. The of these wines generally were around $35, although the Zinfindal was $27. I was looking for "every day" wine, which is why I did not purchase more (hey, I admit I don't drink $35 bottles of wine every day!). Tastings are free, and we will be back.

Having been a member of this phenomenal winery for over 3 years it is about time I gave a review. The Sierra Foothills in Amador County are known for producing great varietals such as Malbec, Barbera, Zinfandel, etc. I can honestly say that out of all of the wineries we have visited, and there has been quite a few, MV absolutely blows everybody, in my opinion, right out of the water. I say this being a fan of big bold juicy reds. My wife and I live in Walnut Creek which is about 2 hours away and worth every minute of the drive to come up and visit John and Cindy Miller and taste some of the best wines in the area. What really amazes me is the fact that John is a self-taught winemaker. If you plan on being anywhere in the area, and it is big beautiful part of California that is certainly worth visiting, then do you and your palate a favor and stop by. You will be greeted by a lovely couple that takes great pride in providing some of the finest wines you will ever taste.

Yes, yes, oh yes - if you like Syrah, you will love Mv. Deep inky black wine with a great nose and a fabulous rich feel in the mouth. As one of my lady friends once famously said "The best thing I've had in my mouth all year" Take an hour out, you won't regret it.

After enjoying the amazing ports at Toogood Winery, I asked our server what other wineries he would recommend. He said to go across the street to MV. Best advice! We would have overlooked MV because the tasting room is very basic, but the wines inside are Napa quality! I could not get over how much I loved the Cabernet France, which is a wine I normally don't even like. Needless to say, we joined the wine club and will be going back soon. I cannot emphasize enough, if you are in the area don't miss this winery. Better yet, make a special trip! I almost forgot - we were served by the owner/winemaker, John Miller. It is a small, very high quality place!

Charming little spot with great big wines!! Jon and Cindy Miller are excellent hosts and the wine is wonderful! We pretty much quit all wine clubs but this one. The Syrah is the best anywhere.

Hard to beat this wine...and my cellar proves it. I'm a big fan of the reds and my wife loves the whites and softer reds. MV is on our "always visit" list.

We were recommended to this winery by friends and ended up meeting the owner, John at a local restaurant. It is very small, but the wines are worth every penny. John, who is also the winemaker was wonderful. Although he planned on being closed on New Year's Eve day, he opened specifically for us.

My wife and I spent an enjoyable couple of days exploring the small wineries in the Fairplay area. Of all the wineries we visited, MV had the best wine. The wines were poured by the owner and we were impressed with each of the wines poured - without exception they were rich and complex and the owner was friendly and informative. This is a must stop for the wine-lover.
