Good beer. Really liked the IPA and the Pale Ale. The others were just average. No food to speak of, serving popcorn would be nice. Unless you live in Santee, you have to ask is it worth the trip to visit a micro brewery? While I am glad that I made the trip from North County, this was probably a one and done trip.

Manzanita consistently brews good beer. The Nut Brown, Gillespie Brown, and the Riverwalk Brown are the standouts. Their new tasting room is pleasant and the employees are welcoming and efficient. The only drawback is that there is no food. So, eat something before you head to this brewery. And don't forget to visit the other breweries in Santee before you head out.

Okay, I'm sure some people love Santee. But still.Anyhow, Manzanita Brewing is another homegrown San Diego-area nano-brewer. Garry Pitman and Jeff Trevaskis started out in 2010, and apparently never looked back. We're looking forward to our next expedition to East County -- heck, to east of I-5- so we can check out their new, bigger digs. Our favourite is the IPA, but then we're hopeless hopheads. The Riverwalk Blonde and Pale are quite drinkable as well. Get thee out there!

Lived in san diego my whole life and been to a LOT of breweries. This one is ok for locals, but not worth the drive for people visiting from out of town. They did a good job with the new brewery, but there are better ones to see. For such a new and small brewery, they are charging the same price as Stone without the same quality.

I had to make an effort to get to this place but it certainly was worth it. I was doing a solo brewery tour on my own only using mass transit. One of the last stops on the San Diego Trolley line, you had to walk about a half mile from the station to an industrial park and tucked away was the Manzanita Brewing Company. This place seemed like a no nonsense, strictly about the beer location - and I loved it!The service was great and the patrons were very friendly. There wasn't any food available which didn't bother me in the least. The wide range of brews on tap is great and well worth a visit. The Gillespie Brown seemed to be the most popular and it was very, very good. I also enjoyed the Kolsch - scratch that, I really enjoyed everything! It's not a big place by any stretch but very comfortable and warm. If you want to try a new brewery, meet some new friends and really enjoy yourself, head out to Manzanita Brewing Company. You will not be disappointed.
