Ok I am now interested in orchids since I received orchid plants this year. And this is the place to see them, in their different stages, sizes, colors and kinds/species and supplies. The nursery is open to the public during weekends only. Visitors are free to wander around on their on and the giftstore is open where questions are answered and advice given esp if you happen to like one from the nursery! There is a photo booth, bromeliads displays and arches of plants! At the end of the room there is a stage being prepared for a wedding ceremony and a big tent for reception ( one can pressume that it is a rental place too). One can easily spent an hour here or if you need some more walk just head towards the Sweeney ridge at the end of the parking lot to enjoy the view. Just be dress appropriately (fog=cool=jacket).

The Shelldance Orchid Garden in Pacifica has a wide selection from rare to common Orchids on display and welcome wanderer's. They have many small spaces to sit and talk, as well as a larger space for small events (looks like a great place for a small wedding). Yes, there is a gift shop, but it's also just a great spot to wander from. It's also a trailhead for a spectacular hike!
