Nice little spot to go when you need to get away from the hot and dry of Southern California. Moderate trail that is an easy hike from where you park your car.

First i will start with the drive. Its about 18 miles deep into the mountains past Ojai. The drive itself is beautiful winding up in the mountains with great views of the Valley. There is nothing much up there so make sure to get gas before hand. The trail is located in the Los Padres National Forest. The hike to the the falls is extremely short and easy. Its the upper Falls thats is more adventurous. Its all rock scrambling on the left side of the lower falls. The view from up there is awesome with a great view of a beautiful 400 ft tall waterfall. If you are capable its worth the climb! with the drought going on there is not much water at all its barely a stream on the lower falls and dry on the upper falls. but still a site to see. If you wait till this winter (hopefully we get more rain) it should be a much more impressive show.

You just want to stay a while!!! Bring a lunch/breakfast...snack etc. When you get here you just want to explore and be around the falls. The falls are flowier at different times of year but are special and lovely regardless! Great for kids...as it's a short hike.

Met some friends hiking to the Falls on a mtorcycle ride with my future wife. Nice and easy trail that is easy to get to and is nestled off some of the best scenic roads with lots of nice twisties. December 2011.

The scenery is great, bathrooms on site, a short easy walk to the waterfall. The kids love to play in the water. Watch for snakes though!

I loved this short easy hike to a lovely waterfall. The trail is easy to follow and a popular hike. At the end is a beautiful waterfall and rocks to sit down on to take it all in. Bring a picnic and sit for a while . It's great for families.

This is a beautiful and short walk with many trees providing shade along the dirt path. I come here almost every year when I visit Ojai with friends, and I'm never disappointed. I came here in July and there was still a little bit of water coming down. Very pretty place to take pictures with the falls covered in moss behind you. It is very tranquil and quiet here..makes you feel like you're in Hawaii! There is a little pond of water just on the left of the walking path leading to the falls that you can swim in. Make sure to watch your kids because there are very slippery rocks! I almost stepped on a baby rattlesnake during a hot summer day on the walking path so watch your step! Rose Valley Falls is a great hike and place to visit!

This hike is a comfortable 2-mile round trip hike, so it is very doable for most people. My daughter was pregnant, so we opted for this. Also, Ojai has a tendency to be very hot; and this hike, surprisingly, was shaded 90% of the time with a wooded surrounding. Very pleasant, very safe, it ends in some caves and waterfalls (even in the summer). What I liked was there was a public restroom and a small parking area at the beginning of the hike. The only drawback was that I actually had to drive 30 min. to get to the site from Ojai. A bummer with so many other hikes nearby; but it was worth it.

this is a short and quite easy hike, but it leads to a really pretty waterfall. the falls were low, but it was still pretty. would be a great hike for kids.

So I was here late December and there wasn't much of a water fall as a trickle - but it is still a gorgeous walk. Very short - I would say 15-20 minutes. But there is a point in it where the sun hits the trees and you feel like you are in an enchanted forest! About a 30-40 minute drive from Ojai center.

While in Ojai for a wedding I decided to take a bike ride up Rt. 33 to the Rose Valley Trail. This was recommended to me by the LBS (local bike shop) where I rented a first class Scott CF road bike. They warned me that after a couple of rolling hills the ride was going to be another 12 miles up. I got started at 7 AM and it took me about two hours to ride the 15 miles to the Rose Valley Trail cut off. Fortunately I had a tail wind to help me up the road and I stopped a couple of times to drink water. It was mostly shaded at that time of day and you pass through the entrance to the Los Padres National Forest and up the canyon. At the turn-a-round you aim straight down and don't stop till you almost reach Ojai. It was the first time for an Easterner like me to experience this kind of climb and decent. Don't know what the trail is like but the way up and down was a challenge and a thrill in that order. Give it a try

Rose Valley has so much to offer. Wildlife, hiking, swimming and great camping sites at Middle Lion camp-grounds. The young Black Bears in summer are just after food, not people, so put your trash secure and hidden at night! Fun for all.

Went in April 2012 and got there saw a big red X on a sign but continued on to find out there is no waterfall due to lack of water!! Didn't go very far on the trail, we could see it from the parking lot dried up. Didn't get an adventure pass cuz we couldn't figure out where to get one, good thing it wouldn't have been worth any $.
