A wonderful Park with easy access and a lot to do. You can Collect and Drink the FRESHEST water available, as it bubbles out of Mt. Shasta. There are usually a few people gathered at thethe Source of the Sacramento River. There are playgrounds for kids, bathrooms, water fountains, playing fields. and trails that are well marked.

This is a lovely park, from which the Sacramento River emerges out of the Mt Shasta lava tubes. Get your crystal clear, icy cold water. In the spring, watercress is snatched up from the stream. The park is like so many in small towns, comfortable, fairly nice and a great place to relax, or to walk.

Our son brought us to this beautiful park and it did not disappoint! Just walking on the paths and smelling the amazing woodsy scents was an experience in itself. We saw small wildlife cross our path and several trees that were centuries old. We saw more different species of birds than we could count. What stood out most of all was God's amazing, perfect creation! This is a great place for a picnic. Take a picnic basket with you and plan to spend the day there!

It's also called the faery park I believe. Interesting place to walk and meditate. Some say they are able to connect more easily to the spirit realm. I will return.

A tradition of gathering pure water is enjoyed each day at the Sacramento River Headwaters in this park. A must stop for anyone traveling to Mt. Shasta. Pic mic area tables, clean rest rooms and plenty of interesting folks to make you feel at home, no matter where you are from!

Water was very pure and was a clean park. I was able to spend it happily. I have abundant green, too. I spent a lunch eating.

A nice spot where a spring bubbles up and marks the beginning of the Sacramento River. The city has done a nice job of making it a reflective spot. People were filling water bottles with water from the spring. A sign marks the spot.

What a beautiful and magic place. Fill up your water bottles it is one of the best waters in the united states. They say the water is 50 years in Mount Shasta before it comes out here. Respect the place don't wash your feet or bottles there. Be respectfull !!

Bring a water jug. This is a special place. The water is so clear and clean. You can even taste the watercress if you are adventurous. It is fun to watch folks come and get water. Some are reverent and do ceremonies others are there for the H20 period.

I agree with the rest of the reviewers. The headwaters are located just north of Mt. Shasta City on old US Highway 99. The thing that was amazing to me was this small little trickles of water evolve downstream into a large river and Shasta Lake eventually ending up as the Sacramento River Delta.

The water is wonderful. This is the best thing to bring back home from Shasta. It tastes so, so good. It comes right out of the rocks and begins its route as the Sacramento River. The park has been restored in a beautiful way with lovely lodge like buildings and flowers. It is well laid out and able to handle the many people who come. I kept coming back and back.
