So we picked up a lamb shank today from Shannon at the Lake Co Farmers market,10 bucks was all, braised it olive oil and Cajun spice , made rue, put it and organic veggies in crock pot 6 hours, the best Irish stew ever. We watched as you guys put up the fences and then the sheep were put n the wetland area by the lake, I love to see them there vs what was a planned high density apartment development. which the community did not want. Shannon: Thanks for your efforts in the community to keep the wetland for the shore birds, carp and all which enjoy this parcel. I will be back at Farmers Market and your tasting room again and again for this lamb. (not a wine drinker sorry but all say it is good that I have talked too.).Wes Baker

We'd seen Shannon Ridge written up in magazines so we decided to visit on a recent trip through Lake County, California. We were quite impressed. Not only are their wines very good (and an excellent value, especially compared to the ridiculously pricey Napa Valley to the south) but they are pioneering a new form of holistic viticulture, raising sheep and chickens in their vineyards, which provides weed and insect control, natural fertilizer, and a diversified product line (they sell fresh lamb meat in addition to their wines from the tasting room). We were delighted with our hostess, Audrey Shannon, the owners' daughter, who was charming, enthusiastic and very knowledgable about her family's wine. And as some other reviewers have noted, they also sell a variety of Lake County products - infused olive oils, bottled olives, wine jellies, and handicrafts. The tasting fee is $5, but the fee is applied to any purchases.This one is worth a stop.

Shannon Ridge Winery in Clearlake Oaks has friendly staff and delicious red and white wines, making a stop there truly enjoyable! They also raise lambs. Their lamb is delicious; my favorite is the lamb ribs. Yum! Cheers all!

My family and I stopped by this cute Tasting Room on the way to Fort Bragg.The kids needed to use the restroom. Very clean bathrooms! This place is not only a winery but has all kinds of local products from Lake County and a marketplace as well. My husband and I did a tasting and it was only $5. Our kids sat on the deck with our dog " Missy" and had ice cream. The wines were fabulous!! Big juicy reds!I mean you could actually taste the fruit!! The Wrangler was our Favorite along with the Petite Sirah, for whites the Sauv Blanc. I have never tasted a better SB. Come to find out these guys have many awards and are also found in some very large chain locations.I think we will see more of " Shannon Ridge". Great, great place, excellent wines, family and pet friendly. Amazing balsamic vinegar's!!! Yum! Best stop ever!
