We traveled to see the fall colors which were awesome. The lake was small but the colors were beautiful from our kayaks.

If you're staying in Mammoth take a couple hours and drive the June Lake Loop. We were originally going to go to June lake to kayak and maybe swim. We accidently ended up a Gull Lake and what a great find it was. In my opinion it's more appealing than June or Silver Lake because it is nice and small. The water was crystal clear and I snorkeled the opposite side of the marina. Great ledges, lots of underwater fallen trees and big rocks. Very very cold, but a winter wetsuit keeps me in the water for about 30 mins. We rented a double kayak for an hour for $20. Loved the free popcorn in the marina. Highly recommend!
