Beautiful View and fun walk at low low tides: You can walk much farther to usually parts unknown. But it is steep and much harder than Moonstone Beach to get to and fro. You can walk "the head", a one mile? walk up and back on Trinidad Head, that big hill to your left facing the ocean. If you're not in shape, there are benches along the way. Bring a flashlight if you plan on doing it at sunset because nothing is lighted for the walk back. Decent Restaurant down the drive to the Pier. Open until 8:30 PM. Really nice bathrooms but they're a long way from the beach, so use them before/after.

A beautifully maintained beach with interesting tide pools and lots of fun rocks to climb. It is a popular beach so there it is heavily trafficked, but it's quite spacious.

Beautiful, remote beach. You must take a steep path down to the beach, but it is definitely worth it. There is also a great hiking trail that follows the ridge and ends up on a bluff with incredible views. Well worth a visit when you are in the Trinidad area.

Take a walk here at sunset or any time and be refreshed! Wander among the rocks and feel the sand between your toes. You might even see some surfers catching the waves. Locals love this place and you'll soon see why.

Just about the most terrific little beach -- supremely beautiful, uncrowded, easy access, convenient parking, and dog-friendly!

After a couple days of enjoying the forest and tall trees we were ready for something different. This was perfect. We wanted to catch some tide pools at low tide and were told this was a good place for them. There are two areas for the beach, one on the cove and one more on the ocean. We started at the cove and headed down all those stairs down the cliff to get to the beach. We thought we were going to have a great time tide pooling as it started out very hopeful with sea stars and anemones. But as the tide went out so did the pools. In the end there weren't too many. It was still a fabulous place to enjoy. We watched the sea lions on the rocks, the cormorants diving, enjoyed the sea stacks and scenic coastal view. Then we thought maybe we'd be able to enjoy an ocean sunset so went to the other larger beach and walked along it. Towards the far end we found an arch and more rugged sea stacks. The sunset fizzled on us, but it was a wonderful counterpoint to the rest of our trip. The sound of waves is mesmerizing. This town looked like a hidden gem.

Last time I checked this beach is in Northern California no matter what other reviews might say. One of Humboldts best beaches. Easy to grab a quick breakfast nearby and spend the morning hiking Trinidad head. With all of our beaches please be careful.

This was the only place that we saw seal lions. They were on rocks not far offshore, so we even got some good pictures. It's not the most accessible place, as there are steep stairs to get to it, but it is worth the effort.

We enjoyed a stroll on this section of southern Oregon coastlines. I's not a long walk, but very scenic. You can walk the beach wearing sandals or hiking shoes, or just barefoot. I classify the beach as one of my favorite strolls.

The views from the bluff of the Pacific Ocean are quite nice. There is a path that also leads down to the beach area from the parking lot. We also enjoyed seeing the Queen Anne Lace Flowers.

Short, Easy, beautiful hike!!! We were done with the short hike in about 35 minutes, it was a beautiful sunrise, and so calming watching all of the boats going out for the day. Hiking shoes are not needed, and kids are welcome!!!

The Humboldt area beaches are diverse. This is the one to visit for big waves that crash right near the beach. The ocean is very close to parking (for those who would rather view waves from the car) with rather shallow beach. Don't go in the water; the undertow is strong. As I local, this is my favorite area to spend a few hours. Don't leave without venturing to the pier behind Seascape Restaurant (shares the parking lot next to State Beach's). There are two bay access beaches to visit within walking distance, and the entrance to hike Trinidad Head shares the same parking lot. Enjoy!
