Situated in a small park the Covered Bridge crosses a small creek, in it's heyday was on a major route. The bridge is open to walk and conjures up the Icabod Crain tail of the Headless Horseman coming out of the darkened tunnel ..... This attraction is some 15 minutes from Santa Cruz and well worth a quick stop if one is passing through. The park facilities were a port-a-loo. It is 5 minutes from the Roaring Camp Railway.

Felton is home to an historic covered bridge. The bridge is located in a park is at the intersection of Mount Hermon Road and Graham Hill Road, next to the Valero gas station and across from Safeway grocery store. There is a nice playground for kids here, some walking paths, and the covered bridge. You'll see a lot of people walking their dogs here. Young families come here to use the playground. Joggers and cyclists pass through regularly.A nice place for a walk during the day, but I would avoid this area at night. The park has seen some drug activity.

There is a very tall covered bridge, and enjoyed walking across. I understand it's the tallest covered bridge, which makes sense as it's in the redwood area so would have to be tall and wide to accommodate large logs during the heyday of the logging in the area.

The picnic table over by the playgrounds are a favorite hangout for bums and druggies, the Sheriffs dept. doesn't make the parka priority as they should.

We stopped here only because we saw a sign on the main road. The park was fun for the kids for a few minutes. I enjoyed the historic covered bridge. If you walk over to the far side (not the side with the playground) you will find the plaque with information. The bridge is beautifully restored.

We visited the Felton Covered Bridge Park; we did not plan to but saw the sign and decided we should stop and see the covered bridge. The bridge is considered to be the tallest covered bridge in the United States. It once was the main entry point for Felton, but now it is just part of the park. One can walk through the covered bridge. On the far end (furthest from the park) there are some windows in the bridge that look out. In the park itself, there is a playground for children and a picnic table area under the trees.Parking is in a lot at the park and is free.

good place to walk the dog, but I didn't feel safe enough to stay very long. The grass is beautiful, the covered bridge is historic, the path is nice, but there are some unsavory individuals who hang around there a lot. I'm not being judgmental, everyone needs a place to be, but I just don't personally feel safe there.

A real historical treat! Just when we thought most all the USA covered bridges were in New England, just south of San Francisco along Route 9, we experience this over-century-old structure. Built in 1892, almost entirely of redwood, the Felton Covered Bridge crosses the San Lorenzo River and is approximately eighty feet long. Why is this the tallest? Possibly, because extremely high-wheeled wagons forded the San Lorenzo during the dry season, the merchants could not afford two sets of different-sized wagon wheels. A very worthwhile and photogenic visit!

Took a walk over the old Felton Covered Bridge, and let our grandson have some time in the playground. Nice setting for a family picnic and a view of local history

The Felton covered bridge is worth a 5 min stop if you're already in the area and haven't seen a covered bridge before. Unlike most, this one is right in the middle of town and there's only a little stream running beneath it. Nothing special, but worth a quick look.
