If you have never been , this is a must! For one its right across from the beautiful beach that you can see from the stands. Classic Place , several restaurants to pick from. Don't forget to head over to the infield for some extra fun. I have been going here for almost 50 years!

This is a must do, if you are in San Diego during one of the two annual race seasons. The facilities are beautiful, with ocean views from the grandstand.

Great horse races makes for fun entertainment anywhere! live concerts on Friday nights are included with your ticket price. parking can be quiet the distance and fills up quick. most attendees get dressed up in big hats and the whole event is just a blast.

Went there on the fist day of their Fall Meet. What a bad experience. Parking lot was full and the traffic flow was so horrendous ! Lot personnel need better training. How can you expect the Breeders' Cup to be held in that race track when the parking is such in disarray.

The Del Mar Race Track is always a great place to visit. Ample parking, plenty of food choices, with concerts and other events often included with admission.

We'd never been to the races before, but had a free afternoon so we tried it out. It was fun! Everyone who works at the track is very friendly and helpful. You don't have to bet on the races, but it makes it more fun if you do. You can bet as little as $2.00. When you pay the $6.00 admission fee you get a booklet that explains how to place a bet, and contains tips from an expert on which horses have the best shot at winning each race. You can place a bet at a terminal, but go to one of the human-staffed windows. They'll help you out and it adds to the enjoyment.I was surprised at how close you can get to the horses and the action. You can stand down at track level and the horses go right past you both during pre-race warmups and during the races themselves. The food items we tasted were very good (great chili). We were there on a Sunday, and it appeared there is a tradition of dressing up among some of the crowd--we saw lots of vintage outfits and fancy hats. A fun, inexpensive way to experience the sport of horse racing, at one of the most famous tracks in the world.

Thoroughbred racing at Del Mar is fun for all ages. The "fall meet" was a huge success so be sure to plan on attending next year during the fall (November) with dates likely to be extended into December.

Del Mar Racetrack is one of the most beautiful and clean racetracks I have ever been to. All of the employees were very helpful and did not run into one problems with fellow patrons. It is emaculant

This is a very well laid out, clean, and family friendly place. I know, I know: a race track is family fun? What kind of family: the Corlones? But look, Kids Love, love, horses. It is outside. Lots to see. Food is, well what can I say, of the deep fried variety but still fine. Our kids had a blast making two dollar bets to keep them engaged and cheering. And it is very inexpensive particularly when you consider how long you can stay there. We bought a box seat - and you should too, particularly if there are 2 or 3 of you. It is cheap and it gives you your own real estate/island.My only complaint is I think it is chicken you-know-what to charge for parking on THEIR property. Does the movie charge to park? This is just nickel and diming and I although I have only been to two other tracks, I have not seen this at either. Very low rent guys.... Cheap, cheap, money grubbing and opportunistic as you either park in their lot or you don't go.

Not a "must see or do" but definitely a worthwhile experience. Expect to pay to visit this historic race track. Entry fees, premium prices for food and drink, not to mention any bets you plan on placing add up quickly. Trackside tables are available for a price if you like. The facilities and grounds are very well maintained, showing some age, but that is part of the charm. People watching is almost as much fun as the pageantry of the horses races. Hard core betters, "wanna be"s and "wanna be seen"s abound, mingling with first time race track visitors. Go for to experience the Sport of Kings. Understand it's a long-shot that your winnings will cover your expenses and you will have a good time. The parking problem can be mitigated by catching the free shuttle from the nearby train stop.

We visited for the big stakes day at the close of the November racing series to see California Chrome. The venue is a lovely old piece of California, but the parking lot is so poorly designed that it took us over a hour to get out! Also, I have never paid more for a beer or a hotdog at a sporting event.

Most beautiful racetrack, clean and very unique. Lots of interesting pictures in the many different areas, a little expensive to have a beer but still a great weekend. Hopefully will be operating in November every yearDiane HolmLangley BC

One of America's most famous thoroughbred race tracks. A must visit. The new November meet has less traffic and is worth a visit.

Del Mar Racing is as good as it gets in CA. and this is their first Fall meetings with excellent horses and races. The crowds are down from the summer and the weather is grand.
