If your travels take you anywhere near Colusa, CA you should by all means take the short trip out to see The Littlest Church. I am not going to get into all the religious aspects of the church, but I think it just represents something that I cannot even describe. The fact that it sits where it does, amidst the vast farm fields and next to a two lane highway with the Sutter Buttes as the foreground, it just seems to stand strong and proud. As I stated in other reviews of this area, I grew up there and many a time have I found myself at this shrine. It always seemed to give me strength and insight into the troubling world of a teen and later in life, that of a soldier and even later, that of a peace officer trying to make sense of all that he has seen and done in the performance of his duties. A great place.

There's not much here. It provides a place for prayer for faithful Catholics and a plaque. There are some lovely trees, but I wouldn't plan to spend more than a short time at this location.

It's just an amazing little piece of history tucked away just off the Grimes highway.
