(review for the gift shop only; did not taste the wine). Friendly, attentive service. Very cute and well-themed gift shop with many lovely and unique items. Need a cute cowboy boot ornament for your Christmas tree? T-shirts with a cool faded/vintage look that you can't find anywhere else? Or some hefty canvas/denim satchel (a bit pricey for cotton, but well-made)? Western-themed pillow case? Cool wrap bracelets? Stop in here. There's more to the place than chickens (they don't eat the corn from the dispenser, so don't put your quarter in) and wine.

What a fun, peaceful place. The outdoor seating is complete with chickens running around. You can play corn hole outside or hang out on couches indoors. Extremely friendly staff and lots of gift items available. Once you say you would like a tasting, they tell you to go find a spot to hang out, and then they bring the wine to you. Great space.

Even though I had hopes of wine tasting here with the resident chickens I felt ignored by the staff. There were no other patrons at the time. https://cowgirlwinery.com Prices for a tasting appeared more expensive than Sonoma County rates that we're used to. We went next door to Talbott Vineyards and shared a tasting. They share a courtyard area.

Good wines (especially the Hacienda blends) in a relaxing location served in such a way as to feel like one is at a winebar and not a tasting room. The drawback of this approach is that you have to seek out insight from the staff to learn about the wines and winery.

For a tasting room, a very different feel (which is what they are going for, and is great!). It's set on a 'ranch' or 'farm' style property. Has picnic tables outside, seating indoors, free cheese and bread for their tastings, great service and people working there, and GREAT wine! I had perhaps the first blush wine I've ever been able to enjoy. Oh - and we loved the chickens on property - a nice little touch.

The decor and set up the owners have created is amazing. Tasteful, outdoors, chickens running around, friendly service, cute little items for sale. Of all of the tasting rooms in Carmel Valley Village, this is a MUST to stop in. It is charming, spacious (not stuffy like some tasting rooms can be). They offer fresh pizza's to snack on if you want something more substantial while tasting all of the yummy wines. They have bocce ball courts you play at, and right next door to Talbot tasting room. This is a total experience, not just a place to stop and sip a wine.

Stopped for lunch on the Wine Trolley at Cowgirl. Felt like we had stepped back into the Old West. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and the wine was good, not great. A nice spot in the Village.

On a spectacular winters day in Carmel Valley, Molly walked me through a tasting flight of the Cowgirl Winery wines. The flight comes with some local made bread from the Corkscrew Cafe and some nice Gouda cheese (must say it went fairly well with all the wines). The flight is the method they use for their tastings although you can buy a bottle of your favorite Cowgirl Wine and drink it there. The wine was served in tumblers, which to a glass snob like me would not be my first choice. That having been said, it was somewhat appropriate given the decor, atmosphere and ambiance of this ranch - Hacienda type of setting which I was told, is the idea. Did I mention my tasting partner for the day was a chicken! A very nice casual western Hacienda type atmosphere and decor make this a great place to meet some friends and have a taste.
