I like these springs, as they are a bit harder to get to. There are 2 roads you can take to get here. Either from 395 just west of Bridgeport (take the turn for buckeye road). This is a single lane dirt road that contours with the mountain and will bring you to the top of buckeye creek (turn off is exactly 4.5 miles in). You can camp at this spot for free. From here there is a mud pool at the top (not super warm) and you can hike down to the springs on the side of the river. I would not attempt this road when there is snow on the ground, or a storm is on the horizon. The other way to access is from the turn off for twin lakes at the edge of town. I have not attempted this, I have only heard about this access through word of mouth (do your research on this road).

A bit hard to get to, as you have to drive on a dirt road for several miles past Doc and Al's. It's at the entrance to Buckeye Canyon, just east of the campground. There are a couple of pools right on the creek. You have to walk down a path, but well worth the effort. Depending on the time of day, might be a bit crowded.

Buckeye Hot Spring is awesome. It's a series of pools that are built each season along the creek/river that runs through. They get washed out with the rains and fluctuation of the river level and then visitors build them back up. As you sit in the pools, that are different temps, the creek runs past on the other side of the pool. Have always met nice people here.It is a very short, very steep hike down the side of the hill, but what a reward at the bottom! There is plenty of space for dispersed camping or you can stay in the nearby Buckeye campground for a fee.

Easy to find but a steep and difficult hike down - but short. There is a nice small pool higher up near the parking lot. - let the kids climb down.

A short drive off highway 395 and then a short hike takes you to a lovely hotspings right in a river. Soak away the hiking and riding soreness form your week in the Sierras.

This hot spring is not the easiest place to find, but well worth the trip. It's several miles up a dirt and gravel road near Buckeye Camp Ground. There are about 4-5 pools at the edge of Buckeye Creek that people have walled off with rocks to catch the hot spring water that cascades over the rocks above the creek. It's clothing optional, as we found out when we got there and there was an old man sitting on the rocks wearing a t-shirt, but no pants. Not exactly the view we wanted to see, but oh well.
