LOSSWAGES
Every Sunday after Church four couples go to breakfast at Rio Secco; we love the staff and feel like family!! We have told many of our friends about the Breakfast and what a fun visit it is along with the quality and attractive price offered. We usually split our meals without extra cost and have all we need to eat. As I write this I am almost having second thoughts..... feeling this place is so special I might not enjoy 'spreading the word' if too many people find our 'hidden jewel'???

This course is amazing and beautiful views of the strip! The course is always in pristine condition, and you will be tested on your course management skills. It's a must to see and play!

Coming from the east coast where golf courses range from relatively flat to built on undulating hills, I love courses with large elevation changes. Rio Secco does not disappoint. It’s a beautiful course with some truly memorable holes.I am also a fan of their practice facility and accompanying snack bar. Too many golf courses send you off to a distant range, with no food or restrooms nearby. Rio Secco has a very nice driving range (although the continuous mat has seen better days) and fresh sandwiches and burgers right there. They also have an excellent short game area. The quality of the T-Mates apparently is quite variable. We had four foursomes on an annual trip and one group declared the day to be the best day in 20 years of traveling together. Their T-Mate was full of personality, took care of everything for them, and helped guide them through the course. Our T-Mate, on the other hand, raked bunkers, occasionally cleaned a club or marked a ball on the green, but had to be asked several times to tend or pull a flag. She couldn’t follow a golf ball in flight or read a putt. Although she was a sweet person and a pleasure to be with, I would have preferred to play on my own, especially for what Rio Secco charges for them (and from what I’ve heard, the T-Mates don’t get much of the money).Other than that, it was a delightful day and I would certainly go back.

The course is nice and well maintained. Holes were different and memorable. The course is on the top of some hills so it can get windy and challenging. Super cute cart girl. After round food and drinks in the clubhouse were reasonably priced and quite good.

Interesting course in great condition. Excellent friendly, helpful staff on course, in the pro shop and restaurant.Highly recommended.

We played it well enough, but thought that it was just an ugly course. In fairness, it had just been reseeded and it was cart path only but so was Bears Best and that was far and away the better course. We will never play this one again.

We played here Sunday June 29/2014. It was 108 degrees, and we had two foursomes playing a scramble for a friends stag party (bachelor party). Each group had a Tee-Mate (Dasha and Courtney) and they were unbelievable. Rake bunkers, tell us where to shoot, read putts are just a few of things that come along with the Tee-Mates expertise (No not that you perverts, although they're beautiful). Beer cart girl (sorry don't recall the name) came around with precision timing to rehydrate us (or dehydrate most of us lol).Proshop and clubhouse staff were equally as accommodating.Course was in amazing shape and is a true test of golf. We have played this course for Vegas Baby in November, so I knew what to expect for course layout, but was interested to see how the heat would affect things. I can honestly say we were fine, and overall was a great experience. Unfortunately we were a little slow, so we had to cut our game short due to daylight, but this was our fault. Thanks Rio Secco and Tee-Mates for making our experience memorable.

The course is well maintained. They do not offer any water on the course. They have beverage cart that drives around. The course is surrounded by homes. The back nine has some spectacular custom homes. The course is challenging and can be crowded. The pro shop has very little selection for ladies.

Really good golf course. Nice views of the Vegas strip. Course is laid out real well and was in near perfect shape when we played it in April. The entire staff at Rio Secco was outstanding. They all went out of their way to make our visit memorable. Well done! This is a must play while in LV.

I just was lucky enough to play eight golf courses in Las Vegas. Here’s how they stacked up:#3 (for me) Rio SeccoPRO- I am sure it’s busy sometimes, but the Wednesday morning I played I had the course to myself. On and off in 3 hours.- Well maintained- Some really fun, challenging holes that really push you to “go for it”CON- None. I really liked the course. I just like TPC and Wolf a little better.NET- I’d love to come back here again.- Probably a little closer to the Strip than a lot of places I played. Please hit “helpful” if appropriate. #1 (for me): TPC Las Vegas (Canyons)PRO- Postcard perfect condition- Fast play, 3 hr 45 minutes!- Challenging greens- Wonderful scenery- Forward tees made the course accessible for a newer golfer; back tees would challenge a pro- Replay rate (at least if you book thru JW Marriott) really affordable- Nice, nice, nice golf carts – fast; great GPS systemCON- Not close to stripNET- If you really love golf and can only play one course – I’d pick this one. Please hit “helpful” if appropriate. #2 (for me) Paiute WolfPRO- Toughest of three Paiute courses- My second favorite course in Vegas after TPC- Great service- Exceptional course conditions- Great value if you play all three Paiute courses- Beginners can play the forward tees and have a great time- Pretty fast playing time (4:10 when I was there)CON- A bit far from Las Vegas- Can be windyNET- Worth it. - If you can, play one course in morning and a different Paiute course in afternoon - I would play this course again anytime.#4 Paiute Snow PRO- Great scenery- Some easy holes, some tough ones- Great service- Exceptional course conditions- Great value if you play all three Paiute courses- Beginners can play the forward tees and have a great time- Fast play (I don’t have the exact time, but pretty close to 4 hours)- Marshall was really pleasant and helpful.CON- A bit far from Las Vegas- Can be windyNET- Worth it. - If you can, play one course in morning and a different Paiute course in afternoon - I would play this course again anytime.#5 Paiute SunPRO- Good risk / reward choices on many holes- Some easy holes, some tough ones- Great service- Exceptional course conditions- Great value if you play all three Paiute courses- Beginners can play the forward tees and have a great time- Fast play (3:50 for me)CON- A bit far from Las Vegas- Can be windyNET- Worth it. - If you can, play one course in morning and a different Paiute course in afternoon - I would play this course again anytime.#6 Angel ParkPRO- Fast, quick, and fun. 12 holes, par 3, that are re-creations of famous par 3 across the world- My favorite was the recreation of TPC Sawgrass “island” - Lit so you can play 9 of the 12 at night.- BargainCON- Reasonable well maintained, but not impeccable- No Marshall to control paceNET- Really fun little course #7 Bear’s BestPRO- Lots of variety; these are a collection of best holes from around the world- Reasonable playing time, around 4:30- The greens are a challenge to read. That’s a con for some people, I suppose.CON- Well maintained, but not as nice as the other high-end courses hereNET- While this is a very nice course, it’s pretty expensive too. I think I’d suggest Paiute (esp: Wolf) or TPC Canyons before this course.#8 Red Rock – ArroyoPRO- Least expensive of the seven big courses- Greens were a lot easier to read than the other courses I played. I guess that could be a con if you are looking for max challenge. CON- Didn’t see a Marshall controlling pace; 5 hour play time- Not in as good of condition as other coursesNET- You get what you pay for - If you have a car, drive a little further and pay a little more for Paiute courses or TPC.- If you are on a tighter budget, this is a more affordable course and it was fun. Please hit “helpful” if appropriate.

I always play this course when in vegas. Can be a very tough track. Greens were a bit beat up. Other then that course conditions were pretty good. As always all staff at this course are amazing and very friendly. Food is amazing at this course. Breakfast in restaurant or at the halfway house in amazing. Lunch in restaurant is always good. Steve at the pro shop desk was such a great guy and got us off early every day. We had a replay booked and decide to cancel as did not want to be too tired and worn out for our next day of golf at Cascata and Steve cancelled it for us no problem. The starter Randy was great to shoot the bologna with prior to our rounds. Last day we played the wind was gusting really bad. This made that course even tougher. That is the only reason why I never found that round to be enjoyable as fighting that tough wind on this course is brutal. I will always play this course when in vegas as we enjoy it so much. I always book through Caesars Golf and they treat you so good.

What an amazing golf course! We used the tee mates caddie program and it was amazing. The girl we had was very friendly and very knowledgeable. I thought she was just going to be a pretty face, but she knew yardages, the break on the greens, would clean balls on the green, rake bunkers, and after a few holes was suggesting clubs. Well worth the extra $200 for her company. She was hilarious too once drinks started flowing. On the par 3 million dollar hole me and my 2 friend each put up $50 bucks. hit the green and you double your money in the pro shop or at the bar. We all missed but my buddy hit the fringe... good enough I guess? The girls gave us $300 bucks at the bar!! That covered our bar tab, cab ride to the hotel and cab ride back to the course the next morning to pick up the rental car. The bar was awesome, sunken bar with rolling chairs instead of stools. The proshop was going to give us half price to play again but we were in no shape to play. The course is lined with a lot of celebrity homes as well. When I am back in Vegas I will deffinitly be back.

I played right after the 3 Tour Challenge and not surprisingly the conditions were great. Greens were quite fast and true. It is a good course with some elevation changes (plays a little shorter than the yardage on the card) and a couple of good views of the strip. We were having a great day, enjoying the course and the great weather when all of the sudden we reach our 16th hole (#7) and there were 3 groups on the hole. In mgmt's wisdom they sent a small tournament/group out in a mini shotgun with our group and the group in front of us right in the middle of it. A quick round of golf ground to a halt and our last 3 holes took almost an hour to play. I have to believe this was an oversight and not a normal occurence but it drops the rating for my experience here.

Played 18 holes here in early October. Loved the design! Staff was super friendly and very professional. We played seven courses in seven days. This was one of my favorites! Great practice facilities! Course was in excellent shape. (You have to remember that many of the courses in the Las Vegas area do their "Overseed" and "Aerification" during September and early October.) The food was good. Pro Shop has a wide selection of apparel. There is a "Butch Harmon" School of Golf located here. There also is a betting whole, known as "The Million Dollar Hole." Great views of Las Vegas from several wholes! Will play this course next year in the 3rd week in October, ..... a must visit.

I have never been so rushed and harassed on any golf course in my life. The Marshall was so rude that the club management apologized and refunded my money. To make it worse, it was not that great of a course... The fairways were full of piles of grass clippings and the rough was way to high!
