I booked this for myself and other half and 2 kids (16 & 11yrs). We had 1 week in Vegas, then travelled to LA and then to San Fran and we all agreed that this was the best day of the whole holiday and would certainly go back, in fact none of us wanted to leave!!. SVR were fantastic, food was amazing, wranglers were also fantastic. They helped you if need be, made it fun and tailored it to what you wanted. Horses were well cared for and you could tell it was passionately run.Shooting guns, cattle drives, penning and much more... finished the day with a camp fire and talking and eating smores under the stars!. We all felt very welcomed and we will return!

My wife, daughter and me had a blast in April 2014 at Sandy Valley Ranch. We have always wanted to do a "City Slickers" adventure, and the Cowboy For A Day program perfectly met our needs. Started with a trail ride, then some "cattle penning" (practice for the actual cattle drive), then lunch, then shooting some guns. After all of that came the actual cattle drive, moving 18 head of cattle through the desert for 2 hours. My daughter (the best rider of all of us) was on Waylon, I was on Tequila and my wife was on Shanie. Trying to keep the cattle from scattering is quite the task, but we managed to get them all home safely. Such a great experience, even for this novice. Afterward, we had a great dinner and finished it off with marshmallows by the campfire. Thanks to Luis for training us right, Brandi for taking care of all of the details, Tony for getting us to the ranch safely, and to the other great folks of the Sandy Valley Ranch. See you next year!

If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of LV for a while head out to Sandy Valley Ranch for a day of horse riding and cattle steering , from our group it was the third time we have booked onto the trip due to the hospitality and friendliness shown from the full team that make this a very enjoyable time. After being picked up from our hotel the drive out was nice a peaceful taking in the sights and on arrival we where made very welcome. Having previously provided weights our horses were already saddled up and raring to go. After a few pictures and instructions (no experience required) off we set with 4 chaperones ensuring the 6 of us got into no difficulty they where very attentive putting everyone at ease . On return to the ranch it was time for some cattle steering into the pens then some lunch followed by a campfire fire and the biggest marshmallows I have ever seen. Thanks you to each and every member of the team that helped us have an enjoyable day and get well Tony.

I have stayed at Sandy Valley Ranch twice now, back in May 2011 and May 2012. The first thing I can tell you about both of my experiences is that the approach to the ranch is breath taking, you leave the I-15 at Jean and head towards Goodsprings and then turn off down a road through the mountains. If you Enjoy driving then I would recommend doing what did and hire a car both times, it is a real drivers experience! The Ranch only has room for 2 guests who stay in a covered wagon, being on my own suited me fine as I had plenty of time to collect my thoughts and reflect on my own life. The scenary is breath taking, as you look towards the road you would have come down to the ranch you can see snow topped Mount Charleston in the distance. the views are full of open plains and Joshua trees! The Ranch has a wide range of animals to visit, I have been horse riding a couple of times there and taken part in cattle penning! Shooting was also great fun to do out in the desert rather than in a range! The food is also absolutely amazing!I could go on about how amazing the staff are, and how comfortable the wagon is but I will be here all day so what I will say is that it is well worth the money if you stay here I can guarantee that you will have the time of your life!

Excellent - We will always remember our stay. I booked this experience for my husband & myself as a 50th birthday surprise during our stay in Vegas. I had pre booked it via email and Tony was very helpful and freindly. We got picked up from our Vegas hotel and arrived to a wondeful friendly working ranch for our overnight stay in the Covered Wagon ! We started by going out on horses (my husband had never been on a horse before!) and witnessed a desret sand strom just as we arrived back from our ride (this all addded to the adventure) We were the only ones staying on the ranch so had the whole place to ourselfs. We had a lovely cowboy meal & beer waiting for us on our return and then just chilled out for the rest of the evening before spending the night in our wagon - it was fabulous. We woke up to a cooked breakfast before being picked up and taken out of the ranch for my husband to go shooting. A wonderful stay, nothing was too much trouble and everyone was to freindly. Not at all comershal. Back to basics.

As the tag line reads '45 minutes and 100 years from Las Vegas'. Perfect description of this beautiful working ranch on the state line with California. From the moment we were picked up from the Bellagio by Tony Giacomo, we knew this was going to be an unforgettable experience. Tony was very friendly and informative about the ranch and pointed out sights of interest during our drive from the Strip, even allowing us to stop for a photo of the incredible scenery on the way.On our arrival we were met and welcomed to the ranch and shown a brief safety video before being given a tour of the ranch and been lead to our horses for the trip.I was given Apache and my wife Was allocated Shanie. Both horses were immaculate and had a lovely temprement which was great for a novice rider like me!!The ride itself was an hour through the desert scrub with the sun setting over the snow capped Nevada mountains with AJ, the ranch dog, in tow. After the trail ride you enter a large arena where you (and the guide wrangler) herd several steer into a pen for the chance to feel like a real cowboy/girl.We were then given time to scrub up before dinner which consisted of Ribs, baked potato, barbeque beans, coleslaw and corn bread served with Champagne, followed by ice cream. The ribs were fantastic and fell off the bone.Full up, we took a few last minute photos of the sunset before the drive back to Vegas. If you fancy something completley different than the bright lights and gambling, then make sure you visit Sandy Valley ranch.

Quite simply the BEST experience of my life! I've always dreamed of riding horses on a ranch, but this was so much more than just riding. Everyone has something to offer here.
