My (adult) niece and I spent a few days in Las Vegas. We enjoyed it, but had the most fun here at Bonnie Springs because it was so relaxed and informal. There was a very funny, amateurish production of a bank robbery and a small "zoo" and petting zoo area. It was completely and pleasantly unprofessional.

It was a cute lil town they have a shoI show in the saloon that was funny and they do it hanging.it's fun for a couple hour. Nice drive up there saw wild donkeys.

Whilst the horses used for the trail rides looked in good condition, I witnessed one of them being severely manhandled. In between rides they were packed tightly into a corral area with no shade in the baking sun (85 degrees). There is also a petting zoo and although I didn't go in as I don't like seeing animals in cages, I could see from the outside that conditions were not good. I found it all very sad and felt the animals - horses included - were just being exploited.

This really is a hidden gem, we only spotted it whilst driving through the Red Rock Canyon. The staff were very friendly and the characters the portrayed gave a real feeling of being in the wild west. We took a lovely hour horseback ride through the canyon and it was the highlight of our whole 3 week honeymoon! The horses were lovely and well looked after and getting to experience the canyon from horseback was incredible. They guide even stopped to take photo's of us with the canyon as a backdrop...we half expected the usual 'we'll take the photo's and you can pay for them at the end' but no, they used our camera and there was no hidden costs./ The zoo is small but nice and there are many lovely old artifacts to look at in the museum and the bar and food is great. I would highly recommend this if visiting Las Vegas, it's a great way to escape the bright lights and chaos. Thank you for making our honeymoon a trip we will never forget.

This town from the 1800s is a nice attraction. Local western characters put on an entertaining melodrama in the saloon. Check the schedule for gunfights and hangings which take place in the rickety little western town. There's a riding stables, train, wax museum and mercantile...It's a fun way to spend a few hours off the strip and feel like you've entered the wild, wild west. The characters seem to love what they do, and they engage the visitors into their role playing. Great fun for the kids. Good photo opportunities abound in this dilapidated little western town. Every staff member we encountered was enthusiastic and friendly. Really, it's the employees that make this place remarkable. The dusty zoo has an assortment of mostly barn animals, with a spattering of indigenous wildlife, such as bobcat, wolves. Caution- the deer will chew your clothes, if you aren't careful. We visited on a cold January day and really enjoyed sipping a hot buttered rum and IPA in the adjoining bar. The rustic atmosphere is cozy with lots of wood and dollar bills hang from the beamed ceiling. They keep the logs burning in the winter and it makes for a delightful spot to grab a drink and chat by the fire. Delightful!

The Red rock Canyon was great. My mother was here on Vacation so something fun to complete. I also took my 3 yr old she enjoyed going though the red rock canyons . Their vistor center is great fun for all ages.. Now the Bonnie springs Ranch had never been so it was a fun experience their were plenty of animals walking around to pet. The animals were very active with both children and adult's. .. the old town was nice to see. The hanging show was a little long and boring. The melodrama was ok and they had us be engaging. The Wax museum was great a little history lesson. All in all this is a nice family outing. The restaurant food was good and the train ride was good as well.

This should be an excellent rating except for the small zoo that is just that - I felt kinda sorry for the animals as the cages are pretty small and while clean it just looks too cramped. The horse back ride, however, was excellent! Our wrangler, Ernie Love (long time cowboy and country western signer) was an absolute hoot and the scenery was outstanding! I will say, however, that you had to sign so many releases that you started to wonder just how safe the ride was going to be!! Regardless of the copious paperwork the ride was great!

After a wonderful night in the motel, and great dinner, the old town was a great disappointment. It felt like maintenance was last attended to 20 years ago. Every coin operated machine seemed broken. No signs saying what time petting zoo opened were available. We were aparently told the wrong time by one "town" employee, and told there were definitely signs displaying times by another as she walked away from us. At this stage we decided not to wait yet another half hour for opening. Reading about the condition of the animals here made us glad we didn't enter.

Went with my wife last Saturday. Great time! Wild West Show(s), trail rides, petting zoo, restaurant, train ride. Actors are fun, and the food is pretty good.

Coming here was the worst decision we made in las Vegas. We paid $35 for our family of 2 adults and 2 kids to enter the ranch, mainly for the petting zoo which my daughter was looking forward to. When we went in, most of the buildings were closed. The petting zoo consisted of animals in cages. None of the animals could be petted except for one deer roaming around. Oh and some chickens roosting on top of trees. All other animals were in their cages, with double- barriered fences. One deer roaming around does not a petting zoo make! The melodrama at the back of the town was cringe worthy, and the hanging that happened just outside, after the melodrama, was not interesting and went on for far too long. You could tell it was a private set-up that was just out to make money, and was not concerned about the quality of what they provided . It consisted of a small zoo with caged animals with one animal for petting, a town with all buildings and sites closed except for the souvenir shop of course, and a drama with terrible acting. Don't waste your money. Spend an extra hour in Red Rock Canyon.

Looking at it through a childs eyes; it's amazing. We took our two grand daughters (4 & 3)out for the day. We rode the train, wandered through the western town and spent an hour or so at the petting zoo. They loved the train, the gun fight was a little loud for their tiny ears but they were excited to see the cowboys and horses. We fed the animals that were roaming around the petting zoo. The ram and the burro were their favorites. We all had lunch at the Bonnie Springs restaurant...burgers and BBQ sandwiches washed down with lemonaide. The servers were all dressed up in their finest Halloween costumes. Afterwards we wandered outside and fed the ducks. A nice day.As I started this review, through a childs eyes, my wife and I enjoyed it as it was our first visit also. The girls had tall tales to tell when they got home.

Bonnie Springs Ranch is a pleasant change of pace from Las Vegas. Nestled in the hills forming the west side of 'Vegas Valley, it offers one a taste of the Old West in a very scenic setting that abuts Red Rock. As a Southern Nevada resident I always make a point of taking out-of-town guests here. There's an old western town and petting zoo for a modest price of admission. There is also a restaurant and bar with surprisingly good food. Old West shows are put on every half hour including an appropriately corny Old West melodrama complete with damsel in distress (and in drag) and villain in the theater and saloon.Recommended especially for families traveling with children.

We went riding in Red Rock Canyon with Maverick tours and had a good hearty breakfast first before being taken on the trial by our excellent trail leaders who were very experienced cowboys. The horse riding was a marvellous experience and we loved every minute. I wasn't keen on the petting zoo, but they told us that they often take in pets like turtles that are no longer wanted and they try to provide them with a safe home, which is laudable of them.
