Beautiful beach with interesting water action as waves meet at an angle near the shore. The campground is at the top of the hill. There are several places where the beach can be accessed but the main locations has recently been updated with a handicapped ramp.

First beach in Oregon and WOW!!!! The state park is big and you won't have the backpacker camping experience, but if you don't mind that stop here. The cliffs are awesome, the beach is lovely, and the campground is very nice.

I can't believe I don't see any comments about the hellacious noise from the lumber mill. I just We could hear logs being dumped, beeping noise from trucks backing up literally all night long. We slept in a tent in it was so bad. I've never been subjected to such a thing. Maybe, if you have a motorhome it would help. I wore ear plugs and couldn't sleep. After the first night, the host said they only did it once in a while, so we stayed another night, OMG!!! They started at 6pm and didn't stop. The camp itself is beautiful. Still, very shocked no one has mentioned the noise.

Harris Beach is the easiest-to-find example of the spectacular ocean beauty near Brookings. I've camped there and enjoyed the campground, which is open even during some portions of the winter. There are three main beaches, each with great views of the ocean, sea stacks, and tide pools. The southernmost is accessible via a long black-topped path from the first parking lot as you enter the park; at low tide you can walk for a mile, at high tide about half a mile. The "main" beach is accessible from the ramps and stairs at the SE end of the day-use area; the farther SE you go, the more rugged the tidepools and sea stacks. You reach the north beach from the day-use area, too, at the NW end of the parking lot where a path goes down to Harris Creek; cross it and walk north (even better tidepools); at low tide, keep going past the rocks, and you can walk for at least a mile past little sea stacks with sea palms growing on them, all the way to Rainbow Rock Beach, which has more tidepools and even some caves. I've seen seals, sea otters, gulls & cormorants & oyster catchers & pelicans, lots of small marine critters like sea stars, "sunflower stars," various kinds of chitons.... Truly wonderful place. I make a point of visiting at least every two weeks and as the sea conditions change.

We have stayed at Harris Beach three times. The park hosts are always nice and very helpful. The park is clean and the Rangers are pleasant. We have stayed here in the fall and winter the weather will change all the time, from sunshine and 70 to rain and 50. The park is scheduled for improvements next year and we will miss staying here. The beach is great and access is easy, a great ramp to the sand.We always enjoy our stays at Oregon parks.

We have RVed here with our 31-ft. 5th wheel in the past. The conifer-covered camp sites give the park a majestic feeling. Harris is a lovely beach, great for strolls. It is very popular in the summer so make reservation as early as possible. Many sites are quite private, and some are close in (great for group camping). Restroom facilities are adequate, although we didn't use them.

Harris Beach has great views of scenic rock stacks, long stretches of sandy beach, tidepools to be explored, picnic tables, and a nice campground. I make a point to visit whenever i get the chance at any time of the year, the huge waves and sheets of rain during winter storms are just as impressive and enjoyable as the colorful sunsets on nice summer days.

What a great beach! The trail down to the beach was easy, and the bathrooms are close. Its a great place to take a family or even the elderly.

Beautiful park and beach. Excellent access for walkers or wheelchairs. Restrooms were clean and plenty of parking. The beach here is spectacular. Large rock formations and lots of room to walk and explore.

Great beach access. Welcoming State Park. Walking distance to the town of Brookings. Clean bathrooms. Perfect place for beachcombing, tide pool gazing, bird watching, or just plain gazing.

The park was closed to campers, but I still enjoyed the views, cleanliness, and accomodations. Great place to visit.

I loved the beach here. The view is so beautiful. Lots of neat places to climb or just walk on the beach. Watching the sunset from here is magnificent. Can't beat it.

From a beautiful beach to rugged rocks to pounding waves, this beach has it all. And, if you eat lunch at one of the tables, you'll get up close and person with the gulls and squirrels.

Great camping experience at the ocean side state park near the California border. Tent rates only $14 per night, immaculate bathrooms and volunteers who make sure to clean up each campsite after the campers vacate. Yurts were only $43 per night but I am told they are hard to get and need reservations 6 months or more in advance. Easy beach access, playground for kids, close drive to shopping and laundromat in park. I want to bring my grandkids here.

Like going to this beach. Layed back and not busy like the port. Great for hiking with a lot of trails in the area as well as the beach itself.
