I was on my way to Meares State Park near Tillamook, Oregon on Highway 101 from Portland. I was enjoying the natural beauty as I drove along, I looked to the left and and saw a sign for Netarts Bay. I was curious and drove down the road to see what was there. I was stunned. The beauty of this bay is truly not describable (so I would attach pictures). I found out afterwards that there is much more to this area then what I saw and can be found on the Oregon Coast Visitors website. Apparently this is also a nesting spot for many types of birds. I predominantly saw seagulls, duck and geese up close. I could see others but not close enough to identify. Actually had to somewhat wade through the birds to see the bay. It is breathtaking. Unless someone has researched the attractions in this area, I don't think they would know it was there. Definitely a quick stop - I was there for an hour - for just viewing and a nice vacation spot for those that want to spend more time on the water and general area. I don't know in particular where the amenities are since I was not staying in the area, so I am not selecting any.
