I had no idea there were so many kinds of Sake. I was amazed and the tasting was so educational and fun! Beware you will walk away with a lot of yummy stuff!

Did you know that Sake One chose Forest Grove because of it's water quality? The Sake is wonderful as is the staff. We took the tour of the processing facility (I think they offer tours daily on the hour) - well worth it! It was so clean and such and interesting process with Japanese rituals and blessings. It's in an odd location, but don't let that discourage you -- well worth the visit! It's the only Sake Winery in the country as far as I know!

We arrived just before closing time and we let them know we will not keep them late as it was my bucket list place and got lost, but lady was very accommodating and we felt so relaxed and at ease. We had a beautiful tasting, gorgeous tasty sake and signed up for their amazing wine club! Kudos!!!!!!!

Had a great time on the free tour! Sake tasting was only a few dollars (compared to wine tasting which is usually 10-15). They paired yummy local salsas and hummus with each, as well! Definitely an experience you shouldn't skip! I'm a bigger fan of sake now!

My wife and I have loved Sake One's sake for a few years, but we had never been to the sakeria. We showed up about 30 minutes before the tour started and did a tasting. The girl who did the tour also did the tasting and she asked us a number of questions to make sure that she was getting us something that we would like. She was friendly, knowledgeable and willing to answer our (numerous) questions. By the way, I recommend the draft plum sake (like plum sake champagne!) most highly. It's only available at the tasting room and, again, I definitely recommend it. After the tasting we went on the tour. Very interesting, not very long. There wasn't much to see, as it was the weekend, but it was still very informative and a lot of fun. Plus, it was a good idea to walk it off a bit before driving!Oh, and the tour is free. Tastings are $5/person for a 6 taste flight or $3 for a 4 taste flight.

My wife and I were traveling with her family from the Oregon coast to Portland. On the way, I looked up a winery, and this sakery on my smart phone as places to stop along the way, based on reviews. This place did not disappoint! We ordered the sake tastings, paired with food (I recommend this) so as to get a better understanding of how sake can accompany food much the same way wine can. The gentleman working that day, Jim, was very knowledgable of sake and taught us about some of the history of sake and how the different types of sake are prepared. Jim was very friendly, had a sense of humor and a quick wit. This stop turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. If you like sake, don't pass this place up!

It's delightful having a Sake producer locally. Try one of their Sake flights... I definitely give it a 2 thumbs up!

A great little tour. Really impressed by the whole operation! Beautiful facilities, loved seeing all the stainless steel vats, 1000# rice bags and learning how sake is made. The gal (Emily?) who toured us was upbeat and gave a really informative talk while shuffling us along in our shoe booties. Loved it!! The tasting afterwards was so wonderful. I have enjoyed sake in the past but now I have an understanding that helps me make more choices into areas my palate will delight in. Thanks.

the sake itself is good and they explain that good sake is served cold. i guess i have come to like sake served warm or hot either from always drinking it that way or whatever. i also know that sake is a form of wine but that doesn't make it ok to be a snob. not all but a lot of wine tasting places are full of snotty people that look down their nose at you and that's the feeling i got here. i don't expect anything more or less from a place like this so i gave this place an average rating.

We went on a tour and tasting at the SakeOne Brewery in Forest Grove last week. We had never had Sake before and thought it might be interesting to try. So, for $5.00 my husband and I shared a taste of 6 different sakes. I can't say we became sake lovers, but we ended up taking a bottle of coconut/lemon grass infused sake home for fun to try with friends. The tour was great. We saw the process rice has to go through and how just 3 other ingredients are added to produce this sake-the first American run Sake Brewery in the States. The tour was free and very informative. Fun side trip on the way to the coast from Portland!

excellent sake, friendly & knowledgeable staff; excellent way to finish a day of mediocre wine tasting.

the dedication and enterprising spirit behind the business, unique in Oregon. I confess to not being a connoisseur of Sake but what I have tasted stands up well to Japanese brands according to my wife and a friend, who are much more knowledgeable on the subject than I.

Having never been to a Sake brewery, Sake One was a place I really wanted to visit during our trip to Portland. It was well worth the drive. We came during the Valentine's Day weekend celebration, which turned out to be pretty nice. They had paired up with a local chef to prepare some delicious food to go along with their amazing sakes. The gentleman that was pouring the sake was very friendly and knowledgeable about all the sakes. What I enjoyed almost as much as the tasting, was the tour. A couple times a day they provide a guided 10-15 minute tour through the process of making sake. It was really interesting and the best part was how great it smelled all the way through. If you're anywhere near the Willamette Valley, it's definitely worth driving over to Sake One for a tour and tasting.

What a nice break from wine tasting! Tony and the staff made this stop both fun and educational. Delicious sake! Excellent free tour!
